Piesie Esther has responded to Empress Gifty for trolling her after she lost the much-anticipated opportunity to be crowned Artiste of the Year at the just-ended 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The gospel musician swept away two awards for Best Gospel Artiste and Best Song of the Year on the night. But that didn’t seem complete without the ultimate prize as Black Sherif was named the overall best after coming top of his competitors.
He beat competition from Piesie Esther as well as King Promise, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Camidoh, and KiDi.
Following the disappointing outcome, Empress Gifty was quick to poke fun at her colleague in a post she made on her Facebook page.
She wrote:
“I need a new TABLE tomorrow”.

She wrote, making a subtle reference to the “Table of Men” – a group that was formed to rally support for Piesie Esther ahead of the awards night.
George Quaye, a former Public Relations Officer of the awards, who earlier accused the gospel music community of going to desperate lengths to influence the Academy and Board Members also trolled Piesie Esther for losing out on the big prize.
Their reactions all pointed to the fact that despite frantic efforts by the “Table of Men” to sway the voting process in favor of their preferred artiste, they failed woefully as the “table got shuttered”.
But in response to the post-VGMA commentaries, Piesie Esther hit back saying the “Table is still standing rock solid”.
She reiterated:
“The table is still very strong, it can never be broken. It’s built on a rock”.

Empress Gifty has also advised McBrown to stop talking and dragging issues with Despite and UTV.
She noted that regardless of whatever has happened, McBrown was once their employee and they fed her.
She advised Nana Ama McBrown to stop talking about her controversy with Despite, UTV, and others at the media firm because she might one day need their help.
Aside from that, McBrown has been on multiple interview platforms to explain why she left UTV without saying goodbye.
But fans are not happy that Empress Gifty has chosen to drag McBrown this way.
According to social media users, Empress Gifty needs to listen to her own advice to shush! They claim she rather talks too much and because of that, her husband lost his job.
Her husband got a new job 3 days ago and she is back to making noise again!
I wish Black Sherif joins me in doing gospel music
Ghanaian gospel musician, Piesie Esther expressed her hope that colleague artiste, Black Sherif is open to joining the gospel music fraternity.
According to her, the vocal prowess of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year would go a long way to improve evangelism if he decides to heed her call.
Piesie Esther missed out on the Artiste of the Year award to Blacko during the event over the weekend.
She said:
“He has that kind of powerful voice. I love his voice. It is my wish that someday he will come and join me in the gospel”.
