A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyepong, has revealed that he is well-equipped to provide the party the requisite leadership to win the 2024 elections.

According to him, he has all the necessary traits that will endear him to delegates to vote massively for his candidature at the primaries. He revealed that the delegates have a responsibility to choose the next leader of the party with wisdom and forethought.

“Today I filed my nomination forms and it’s a significant milestone on an inspired journey to lead our great party towards victory in 2024 elections… In all humility, I am equipped to provide that sort of leadership that will restore the party as a generally united force that will make it possible for us to win the elusive third consecutive victory in 2024. I urge all party delegates to consider this, the future of our party and our country rests in your hands, in fact it is your bosom.”

Kwabena Agyepong

Addressing the media after submitting his presidential nomination forms at the party headquarters in Asylum Down, today, June 21, 2023, Mr Agyepong stated that he is committed to bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the challenges facing Ghana.

Among other things, he noted that he seeks to restore cherished values of service, sacrifice and selflessness back into politics.

“It is these principles that have ensured the sustainability of this political tradition in the 63 years of political vagaries in this country. We need to instil authenticity, integrity, and substance unto our political landscape – leadership is about tackling difficult situations and providing solutions.”

Changing the fortunes of the NPP

The flagbearer hopeful of the party stated that there is a need to change the fortunes of the country and he is confident that his strong-will will propel him to “win this battle with all my heart and all my soul”. He further noted that with the help of the delegates of the party, he has no doubt he will win.

“Let’s make Ghana a land of opportunities for all. This is just the beginning of many great things to come. Long live the NPP.

Kwabena Agyepong

Elaborating on his journey, Mr Agyepong stated that his vision is simply a “humble redemption mission” to create a critical mass of public spirited Ghanaians which is needed to generate the momentum required to cause “seismic shift”. He explained that this is required to happen in the thinking and orientation of what party politics and public service should mean to all past politicians, political appointees, civil servants, and all Ghanaians.

“When I started this journey, many people who heard my message of a new dawn very quickly came to wholly appreciate what is dear to my heart and came to understand why my vision and aspiration for the transformation of our dear country Ghana.”

Furthermore, the NPP flagbearer hopeful highlighted that the country deserves a new dawn and a new direction and a new face that would be able to connect with the Ghanaian people and restore the confidence that the Ghanaians have in the constitution which he represents.

Meanwhile, a flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Eric Sakyi Nketiah, has accused leadership of the party of unfairly denying him the opportunity to pick forms to contest this year’s presidential primaries. He has, therefore, voluntarily withdrawn from the race.

He lamented that two petitions submitted to the General Secretary and the Chairman of the Council of Elders have not yielded a favourable outcome.
