Famous Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur Michael Owusu who is popularly known as Sarkodie, has said that the VIP seat for his annual ‘Rapperholic’ concert is almost sold out.
The ‘Fa Hooki Me’ hitmaker made this known on his Twitter as he posted a picture showing all the seats that have been bought for the VIP section. He tweeted,
“VIP seats almost gone”.
This comes as a surprise to some of his fans, since, the tickets are selling at a whopping price of 500 Ghana cedis, 6,000 Ghana cedis, and 10,000 Ghana cedis.
They went ahead to continue to lament over the absurd ticket prices and the fact that people are buying the tickets regardless of the prices.
“Let it go @sarkordie it is too expensive.
“Eiii people have money in Ghana oo.
“This your show is truly not for your core fans …Those who really follow and appreciate you can’t afford this kind of money…This is just for highest bidders.
“It’s been a dark year for a lot of people. God bless the souls lost. We weren’t prepared for this…”
“In your own words u know it’s a dark year for a lot of people, yet still you’re selling tickets for 500 cedis to 10k. Abi your concert will resurrect those who died this year right?”
On December 12, 2020, Ghanaian musician Sarkodie announced what most fans anticipated for the year 2020; a Rapperholic concert.
In one of the best video promos for a music concert in Ghana, the top Ghanaian rappers whose name resonates on the continent and across the globe said:
“It’s been a dark year for a lot of people. God bless the souls lost. We weren’t prepared for this …”
Sarkodie went ahead to state he had to go back and forth with his team around having the most anticipated show in Ghana. In the end, it was a yes. For the fans who needed it in these times. He then asked fans to watch out for the details.
The Ghanaian musician and team announced the limited tickets for Rapperholic and it’s wishful thinking for most Sarkodie fans.
According to information on Boxxtiket, the VIP slots for Rapperholic 2020 are going for GHc500 per head.
For a table with 2 bottles of champagne, 1 bottle of whisky, 1 bottle of vodka, 1 bottle of red/white wine, water, and mixers, the price stands at GHc6000.
The GHc10,000 cedis package is for 8 people with 3 bottles of champagne, 1 bottle of whisky, 1 bottle of vodka, 1 bottle of cognac, 1 bottle of red wine, 1 bottle of white wine, water, and mixers.
As expected, these revelations always put up an interesting conversation on Twitter where tweeps compare what could be done with that amount of money. Then again, the target audience wins always as these shows are almost always never empty.
