Honourable Theresa Lardy Awuni further highlighted her remarkable achievements in the area of human development and explained that in order to encourage residents to consider entrepreneurship, her office has set up skill-training programs, which have equipped several constituents with skills in areas such as making cakes, yoghurt, and soap.

Again, the Okaikwei North Member of Parliament mentioned, among other things, the payments of medical bills for more than 120 constituents, the provision of health insurance cards for over 9,000 constituents with regular renewals, and the donation of 52 hospital beds to the Achimota Hospital and NK Salem Medical Centre as noteworthy health-related initiatives she has spearheaded.

Moreover, the legislator revealed that she has donated and installed streetlights to improve security and visibility as part of her mission to promote community welfare and also ensured that dredging works are done at important drainage areas to minimize flooding within the Okaikwei North Constituency.

Hondurable Theresa Lardy Awuni concluded by highlighting her kind support for various recreational activities in the Okaikwei North Constituency, such as football galas, amongst others.

Okaikwei North MP Commits To Retain Seat

Meanwhile, Honorable Theresa Lardy Awuni expressed her commitment to retain the Okaikwei North Parliamentary seat for the opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2024 general elections.

Reacting to the Akuapem North Member of Parliament, Nana Ama Dokua-Asiamah-Adjei’s election as the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for the Okaikwei North Constituency, the National Democratic Congress legislator indicated that her remarkable achievements in office make it easy to retain the seat in the 2024 general elections.

“I am well-prepared. I am telling you, I am poised and prepared for the 2024 elections. I am not contesting any incumbent Member of Parliament. I am told there is a certain woman who contested twice in a certain constituency and is running away from the constituency. The person should come and tell us what she has done in Okaikwei North [and] why the people of Okaikwei North should even listen to her. You are a sitting Member of Parliament.

“You are going to be paid until December even as we are going into the elections, and you’re bringing all their salaries into Okaikwei North. You are taking their Common Fund, and you’re in Okaikwei North. How sure are we that in the unlikely event that we give you our constituency, you will not run away and go into another constituency with our resources? It will not happen. We will protect this seat. I am poised for a showdown in 2024. I will retain this seat, and we will bring in His Excellency John Dramani Mahama”.

Theresa Lardy Awuni

Honourable Theresa Lardy Awuni further refuted the assertions that the Okaikwei North parliamentary seat is a traditional seat for the New Patriotic Party, stressing that she would increase her two thousand votes margin in the 2020 general elections to about five thousand votes margin in the 2024 general elections.

She thus urged the Okaikwei North constituents to rally behind her in the 2024 general elections by voting for her and rejecting the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate.
