The Technical Advisor and Spokesperson to the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Gideon Boako has declared his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries in the Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region to represent the party in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 21, 2023, to affirm his decision, Dr Gideon Boako posited that his decision to contest the Tano North Constituency parliamentary primaries is anchored on the need to prevent the opposition National Democratic Congress from taking the seat from the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general elections.
According to Dr Gideon Boako, there is currently a huge disconnect between the grassroots of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency and their current Member of Parliament, Honorable Freda Prempeh, hence the need for him to step in to save the party from losing the seat to the opposition National Democratic Congress in the next election.
“Dear friends, colleagues, and fellow patriots, with deep gratitude and a resolute spirit, I humbly address you today to formally announce my aspiration to serve the good people of Tano North Constituency in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. This decision stems from my enduring commitment to our constituency, driven by your unwavering support and the greater welfare of our people and nation”.
