Members of the Believers World Centre also known as the Philadelphia Movement have refuted claims suggesting that their leader, Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah has equated himself to the Son of God and the saviour of Christians, Jesus Christ.
The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), in a press statement titled ‘Beware of false teachers and messiahs,’ condemned Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah, for suggesting that his face should be used as a replacement for the widely known ‘Jesus’ picture.
According to the CCG, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah is not and cannot be the Jesus that Christians seek.
Responding to the claims by the CCG, the Philadelphia Movement noted that, their leader has never equated himself to Jesus Christ, nor has he charged his followers to view him as such, rather he teaches his congregation to only submit to Jesus Christ.
“The text of the press statement indicates a clear misconception of the statement the Prophet of God made about the staurogram in particular and his teachings in general. Nowhere has the Prophet of God said expressly or even impliedly that he is the Jesus Ghanaians seek in Ghana or the World at large as contained in the statement.
“Had the proponents of the statement taken their time to listen and follow the teachings of the Prophet and not been swayed by mischief, doctrinal subterfuge, and sheer envy, they would have realized that the Prophet of God has ceaselessly preached Christ, admonished Philadelphians to seek Christ and live their lives to please the only begotten son of God.”

The group maintained that Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah’s statement on Jesus’ picture was only a revelation from God that Christians can choose to either accept or reject.
“His statement about the staurogram was only prophetic. It is one’s choice to believe or reject it,” parts of the statement read.
CCG Urged To Work Towards Salvation
Followers of Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, also known as the Philadelphia Movement, are urging the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) and other Christian Ecumenical Bodies to repent of their sins and work towards salvation.
The CCG, in response to Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah’s claim that his face would replace the widely accepted image of Jesus in the next 500 years, advised the controversial preacher to repent and focus on his salvation.
The CCG also emphasized that Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah cannot be the Jesus figure that Christians seek.
The group accused these major Christian institutions of engaging in sexual immorality and other sins, urging them to address these issues within the Ghanaian Christian community.
“The statement admonishing the Prophet of God to repent and work out his own salvation was judgmental and if there is any body of persons in need of such admonishing, it is the Christian Council and the Christian Ecumenical Bodies themselves.
“It does not need salvation to observe that Christianity in Ghana is sick and the body of Christ has been made to suffer humiliation and chagrin.”

“If the Christian Council and the Christian Ecumenical Bodies have any moral energies left, they must be channeled to address the ills of the church,” a press statement from the Philadelphia Movement read.
The statement further addressed that the CCG should rather focus on pastors going wayward.
“The council should focus on addressing allegations of pastors engaged in sexual immorality, including sleeping with wives and daughters of their congregations. Bathing people’s wives and washing their private parts all in the name of deliverance. Addressing this must be your focus.”
