Selina Boateng Admonishes Individuals to Choose Understanding Partners

Selina Boateng

Ghanaian gospel star, Selina Boateng has revealed that marriage is an institution made by God but he’s given everyone the free will to choose a spouse.

She highlighted it was divine design for an individual to go out and search for a partner and ensure they choose “the right one” for themselves.

She asserted the choice of a partner was the individual’s prerogative and not God’s, adding that no matter who the individual brings to God, as long as it’s what they have chosen, He [God] will bless it.

“God is a wise person. He wants you to take responsibility for your choice, especially in moments of crisis, and not blame him for arranging a marriage for you,” Selina Boateng emphasized.

In response to a scenario where Selina would want to go and perform at an event while her child was not well, the award-winning Gospel singer underlined the necessity of choosing a partner who understands them and their work, because “if you’re not of one mind, there’ll be confusion every day”.

She noted her husband, in the given instance, would take care of their child and ask her to go and honor her invitation.

“It takes more than one individual to take care of a child, anyway. This is why I said you need someone who is understanding and thoughtful. It is the absence of thoughtfulness that has left many people weeping in their matrimonial homes your partner does not understand you, nor appreciate your job, and so they always complain when you leave home.”

The ‘Moving Forward’ singer bemoaned Gospel musicians ending their careers because of an inconsiderate partner.

Noting some partners even offer to pay their spouses to quit singing, she admonished: “Gospel music is not about money but a message. Money is only a bonus.”

Selina Boateng contended it was unfair to marry someone knowing very well they are passionate about their work, only for you to ask or force them to stop said work.

Musician Cites Medicinal Purpose of Sex

Selina Boateng underlined the physiological benefits of sex.

According to her, sexual acts like “smooching,” she said, can take away various forms of headaches and depression.

“Sex is medicinal. It’s medicine. Sometimes when you report sick to the hospital, the doctor asks if you’ve had sex. Yes, I’ve been asked that before. Sexual activity releases hormones.

“The feelings you get from sex, there’s medicine in it. It can relax your mind in such a beautiful way. It is part of the biological process. God made it so.”

Thus, the ‘Medofo Pa’ (Good Love) singer argued, that sex is indispensable and cannot be taken out of the human experience.

“If you’re married, you have every right to use sex,” she said, admonishing, however, “If you’re not married, it is immoral to do it. It is not against the Bible when you’re married.”

Selina Boateng encouraged spouses to freely give sex to their partners no matter where they find themselves.

“However, don’t do it in public in the full glare of others for whatever reason,” she said, urging respect for public decency laws. The Christian singer fondly emphasized it was okay for spouses to make love wherever they please in the privacy of their homes.

She, also, revealed so far as the opportunity was available, she had used sex to relax after a performance.

Selina Boateng stated that she has never been asked to trade sex for financial or corporate help in her music career before.

She said a number of the women she mentors have, however, reported such situations to her.

“Appearance is very important. How you appear before people gives them an idea of who you are and how they must relate to you,” she said, per her experience.

She said it was indeed possible for someone to think of asking an individual for sexual favors but how one carries themselves and goes about their things could make it impossible for such harrassments.

The ‘Moving Forward’ singer noted that an individual must make it crystal clear “they are not in for such [amorous] things,” the moment they come into contact with people in the professional world.

Selina Boateng admonished singers, especially female singers, to be demure, not interact in sexually suggestive ways, or encourage sexual advances from individuals they have no romantic intentions for.
