Ghanaian highlife star Kofi Kinaata has invited fans in Tema to join him for a special live performance on Friday, September 25, 2026. The event, billed as the “Kofi Kinaata Experience in Tema,” is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and run until late into the night.

In his post, the Takoradi-born artist wrote enthusiastically: “Yo Tema! Let’s meet at Krom Pub, Comm. 9 on 25th September! #TeamMooove.” Accompanying the message was a colorful promotional flyer featuring Kinaata in sunglasses and a patterned jacket against a green and gold background.

The flyer confirms the venue, time, and ticket details, including a dial-in code and QR option for purchases. Organizers list partners such as Sound Masters Entertainment and DL FM, along with several media houses.

Kofi Kinaata, whose real name is Martin King Arthur, was born on April 15, 1990, in Effiakuma, Takoradi, in Ghana’s Western Region. He rose to prominence through sharp Fante-language rap battles and storytelling songs that blend highlife, hiplife, and traditional proverbs. Hits such as “Susuka,” “Confession,” “Things Fall Apart,” and more recent tracks like “It Is Finished” have cemented his reputation as one of the country’s most consistent and critically respected songwriters.

He has collected multiple Songwriter of the Year awards at the Ghana Music Awards and continues to perform as an independent artist under his Team Move Music label.

Beyond the stage, Kinaata serves as a National Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM). In that role he promotes safe migration pathways and highlights opportunities available at home for young Ghanaians.

His annual “Made in Taadi” concert in Takoradi has become a major regional event, drawing artists and fans from across the country each December. The upcoming Tema appearance continues his pattern of connecting directly with audiences outside his home base.

Tema, Ghana’s major port city and industrial hub east of Accra, has long supported live music culture. Community 9 is a familiar residential and commercial area, and Krom Pub’s forecourt offers an outdoor setting suited to an open-air highlife night.

Public Reaction

Organizers have positioned the show as an accessible evening for local fans, with tickets available via mobile short code and online scanning. Contact numbers listed on the flyer provide further information for those planning to attend.

The timing of the announcement comes as Kinaata remains active on multiple fronts. Earlier in 2026 he released a patriotic track supporting the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup and continued collecting accolades, including recognition at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

His ability to move between social commentary, romantic themes, and feel-good highlife has kept him relevant across different generations of listeners. Fans frequently praise the wit and moral lessons embedded in his lyrics, qualities that translate well to intimate live settings.

Local promoters appear to be treating the September 25 date as a significant booking for the Tema calendar. Partnerships with radio stations and media outlets suggest strong promotional support in the weeks leading up to the show.

For many residents of the Greater Accra area, the event offers a relatively short trip to see one of highlife’s leading contemporary voices without traveling to Takoradi or Accra’s larger venues.

Kinaata’s career trajectory reflects a deliberate focus on quality and cultural authenticity. After early success with the High Grade Family collective founded by Samini, he established his own imprint and maintained creative control.

That independence has allowed him to release music on his own schedule while still delivering consistent live performances. The Tema date fits the pattern of selective, high-engagement appearances rather than exhaustive national tours.

As the date approaches, anticipation is expected to build among #TeamMooove supporters. Social media reactions to the initial post already show enthusiasm from fans in Tema and surrounding communities.

Organizers have not yet released a full supporting lineup, but the evening is framed around Kinaata’s catalog and the energetic atmosphere typical of his shows.

The announcement highlights the continuing demand for live highlife experiences in Ghana’s urban centers. While streaming and digital platforms dominate music consumption, artists like Kinaata continue to draw crowds who value the communal energy of outdoor performances.

Krom Pub’s forecourt on September 25 is set to host one such gathering, giving Tema residents a chance to experience the Fante Rap God’s music in a neighborhood setting.

Ticket information remains available through the channels listed on the official flyer. Fans are encouraged to secure entry early, as similar appearances by popular highlife acts often sell out.

For Kofi Kinaata, the Tema stop represents another opportunity to strengthen his connection with audiences beyond the Western Region while delivering the sharp lyricism and rhythmic highlife that have defined his career for more than a decade.
