Former President John Dramani Mahama, NDC Flagbearer for the 2024 general elections

With just 50 days until the December 7th general elections, former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has issued a clarion call to his supporters, urging them to redouble their efforts in the final stretch of the campaign.

In a public address, former President Mahama emphasized that the upcoming election is a decisive battle to “rescue the soul of our nation,” underscoring the urgency of the task at hand.

“My name is John Dramani Mahama. December 7th is just 50 days away. In 50 days, we’re going into battle. And it’s a battle to rescue the soul of our nation. I thank you all for your hard work so far.

“I’m particularly indebted to the incredible number of you who have volunteered for the Mahama for Change Campaign nationwide in your communities, your institutions, your workplaces and online on social media”.

“I’m here to encourage you to work even harder in the last 50 days,” former President Mahama urged, describing the period leading up to Election Day as a make-or-break moment.

The National Democratic Congress flagbearer and leader further expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership at all levels, both at the branch, constituency and national levels for their hard work done so far.

He pointed out that the party’s branch, constituency, regional, and national executives as “generals leading the charge in this battle,” and called on them to be vigilant in their electoral areas, particularly at the polling stations where every vote counts.

He praised their dedication in their respective leadership roles and stressed that the next 50 days will be critical.

“Your polling stations where you vote is your responsibility,” he said, urging party faithful to not only bring out the votes for the NDC but also ensure that the electoral process is closely monitored to prevent any irregularities.

“After voting, keep your eye on the process even more keenly until the last ballot is counted and victory is declared for us,” he stressed, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the integrity of the election.

Reward for Hard Work

Furthermore, former President John Dramani Mahama vowed to reward the hard work of his supporters by ensuring victory at the polls.

“As your presidential candidate, I will ensure all your hard work results in victory,” he affirmed, inspiring confidence in the party’s chances in both the presidential and parliamentary races.

He stressed that unity is the party’s greatest asset, urging all supporters of the opposition party to remain united and focused as they march toward victory.

“Within these 50 days, let’s get to the finish line together. Remember, our strength lies in our unity,” former President Mahama said, calling for an unwavering commitment to the cause.

He framed the election as a choice between the status quo and the opportunity to “reset our economy and build the Ghana we all want together.”

In his closing remarks, former President John Dramani Mahama underscored his vision of hope in building a better and prosperous Ghana for all citizens, regardless of their social or political status, calling on Ghanaians to join the NDC in reshaping the future of the country.

“Let’s get out and vote to reset our economy and build the Ghana we all want together,” he concluded, igniting a sense of purpose and urgency among the crowd.

He emphasized that the next 50 days represent not just a political contest but a pivotal moment in Ghana’s future, and every NDC member has a role to play in securing that future.
