He contended that Davido’s comments were not entirely off the mark, given the current state of insecurity and economic instability in Nigeria.
Verydarkman emphasized the need for contextual understanding, suggesting that Davido’s comments should be viewed in light of the country’s pressing issues.
He argued that the music star should have started by addressing the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, which would have provided a more nuanced perspective on the matter.
The activist also seized the opportunity to highlight the economic challenges facing Nigeria, citing the exodus of top brands and companies from the country.
He listed several firms that had left Nigeria in 2024, including Cusson, Kimberly-Clark, and Microsoft, attributing their departure to the challenging business environment.
Verydarkman painted a stark picture of the economic reality in Nigeria, revealing that many citizens were struggling to survive on less than $5 per week. He shared prices of basic food items, highlighting how many people could no longer afford to purchase them.
In a stern warning, Verydarkman cautioned critics to refrain from dragging Davido, emphasizing that the music star had not lied in his interview. He reiterated that Davido’s comments, although imperfect, were rooted in a deeper understanding of Nigeria’s complexities.
