M.anifest, a renowned Ghanaian rapper, has called on public figures and key stakeholders to demand accountability from the government, following the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) landslide victory in the 2024 elections.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss was largely due to poor governance.

M.anifest emphasized the importance of accountability, regardless of the change in administration.

“….. We’ll, show working. for the most part, I have to keep an open mind as a Ghanaian but at the same time, it’s not a cut blanche to say that just because it’s a change in administration, everything I good.”

M.anifest

He urged prominent individuals, including himself, to use their voices to amplify demands for accountability from the government.

“Rather I think people like myself and yourself [ public figures], those of us who are privileged enough have voices, I think what we can do is amplify the voices of accountability instead of being partisan.”

Rapper, Kwame Ametepee Tsikata popularly known as M.anifest, disclosed that his beef with fellow rapper, Sarkodie was not premeditated.

The M.anifest and Sarkodie beef started in 2012 with M.anifest’s “God MC,” which some saw as a diss track.

However, it escalated in 2016 with Sarkodie’s “Bossy” and M.anifest’s response, “god MC 2.” Sarkodie fired back with “Kanta,” a diss track that sparked widespread debate.

Although the intensity has dissipated, the two remain respected figures in Ghanaian hip-hop.

The award-winning rapper and songwriter, M.anifest opened up about his past feud with rapper, Sarkodie.

He clarified that his feud with Sarkodie was purely driven by a competitive spirit, creativity, and ideological differences, rather than a deliberate plan.

“It was not planned. I think I have said this to people several times and I think they disbelieve it, but both he and I will attest to the fact that it was not planned. I think it was in the spirit of competition in the sense that if he(Sarkodie) is on record saying certain things, being a competitive person, I mean, and being triggered by the mention of my name and the use of my slogan, I decided to say, well, you know, if you ‘dey me too I dey’, so why not?

“And we took it to that competitive realm. It was nothing personal. He hadn’t stolen any money of mine. I hadn’t stolen any shoes of his, no clothing. And to a certain extent, ideological differences, which is okay, because that’s what a lot of art is.”

According to the artist, the feud between Sarkodie and himself was purely competitive.

M.anifest further emphasized the benefits of competition in the music industry, noting that “both competitors benefit in the sense of the currency of people seeing you showcase your talent.”

M.anifest also stated that he and Sarkodie have maintained a cordial relationship over the years, and have moved past the feud.

The Ghanaian rapper also recalled some past collaborations he has done with Sarkodie after the ‘beef’, including a song they worked on together during the Covid-19.

M.anifest has released a new love song titled ‘Hang My Boots,’ featuring Ghanaian singer King Promise.

The track, which had been highly anticipated by fans, was officially announced on Thursday, December 12, 2024, on the rapper’s X (formerly Twitter) account.

The song comes with captivating visuals, adding to the already heightened appeal of the smooth and emotional tune.

Mdot, who has made a name for himself as one of the best lyricists in the country, delivered a powerful rap verse that talked about his affection for a woman he was willing to stay loyal to and hang his boots from entertaining other women, which was complemented by King Promise’s signature soothing vocals.

‘Hang My Boots’ showed a softer side of M.anifest, with its love-themed lyrics and melodious rhythm.

Fans were thrilled to see the collaboration between these two talented artists, and many took to social media to share their excitement.

The comments section of M.anifest’s post was filled with praise for the song, with fans expressing their joy at seeing the two stars work together.
