Grammy Academy Approves Shatta Wale’s ‘Street Crown’ for Consideration

Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has announced that his latest single ‘Street Crown’ has been shortlisted by the Grammy Academy for consideration.

This news has cemented his status as one of the most sought-after Ghanaian musicians who has a great influence in Africa and beyond.

In a social media post, Shatta Wale shared a screenshot of the confirmation he received after submitting his song for consideration for nomination in the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards..

The Dancehall musician broke the news on social media, stating that his song has been entered in the Best African Music Performance category.

Shatta Wale could reportedly be officially nominated for a Grammy in 2026 if “Street Crown” makes it beyond the preliminary screening and into the Grammy ballots.

Released as part of the ‘Voice of the Crown’ EP, the song has already generated considerable excitement both domestically and abroad, with many fans praising its uniqueness, meaning, and production value.

Some social media users congratulated Statta Wale for putting Ghana on the world map through his music.

The Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur publicly pledged the Manhyia Palace.

The chief executive officer of ride-hailing service, Shaxi, promised to donate parts of his proceeds to support projects in the Ashanti Region.

Shatta Wale announced in a post that he will give twenty per cent of the profit from his transport company, Shaxi, one of Ghana’s leading ride-hailing platforms, to the Manhyia Palace.

He added that he wants to see contributions to developmental projects in the region.

He expressed his gratitude to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu after he performed at the recently held Rapperholic concert on September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium.

“Small-time shaxi will be Kumasi’s number 1 ride-hailing app, and I will give 20% of our proceeds to the Manhyia Palace to cater for schools and hospitals in the region. The love is too much, the support is too much. I thank you OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II… I bow my King.”

Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah and other celebrities have commented on Shatta Wale’s Facebook post.

OB Amponsah stated: “My love for you grows exponentially every day. Shatta Wale! Such an inspiration ❤️.”

Sharp Manarulin King stated: “Tell me why I no go love Shatta wale?.”

Al Mubarak stated: “This guy is for business, is like he hosted Sarkodie Koraa 😁.”

Nii Lante Lamptey stated: “They’ll say settings but this is knowledge, wisdom and business… Nii ji bo l33l3.”

Manuel Tompoo Eastern stated: “Imagine Shatta as president. Just imagine the good things we will have and enjoy as citizens of Ghana 🇬🇭 🥰🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
