The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has outlined the measures being put in place to guide this year’s recruitment processes for the security services under the ministry.

The minister emphasized that these measures are being put in place to ensure a smooth and seamless recruitment process from beginning to end.

Hon. Muntaka noted that the application process will be adapted to an online system to ensure access nationwide, irrespective of location.

“The Ministry of Interior is working to make sure that everything that we do in that ministry moves from paper to paperless.

“In line with that, at the comfort of your home, probably for the first time, you can start the process and finish with your mobile phone via the USSD dial code.”

The minister stated that the application process will begin on Monday, November 17, 2025, and will be published in the National Dailies, on the Ministry and its agencies’ websites, and on social media platforms.

He stated that the details for application will be published on Sunday, November 16, with the web address and the USSD short code details, before the commencement of applications on Monday.

“The system we are developing is a robust, centralized e-recruitment portal and an initiative implemented to ensure harmonization and standardization of the conduct of the recruitment across various agencies under the Minister of Interior.”

The security agencies under the Ministry of the Interior include the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

The recruitment processes for all these agencies under the Ministry of the Interior will be made online, with application details available on their respective websites.

The Minister for the Interior emphasized that this process will enable every applicant to monitor and follow through the process right from the beginning, till admission into the training school.

He noted that this will allow applicants to monitor the progress of their application on their phones and be able to respond to requests for any call for particular exercises as part of the process.

The minister also added that out of their recognition of network challenges in some parts of the country, the voucher will be available for purchase at any Ghana Commercial Bank branch nationwide and Ghana Post branches across the country.

He urged applicants in areas with good internet connectivity to make use of the online process, emphasizing the effectiveness of the portal.

“The application process will be seamless and online, utilizing the robust and secure platform designed to handle a large volume of applications efficiently. The online portal is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.”

Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior

“The portal will be accessible on multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers.” He stated.

The minister further explained that the screening of applicants will be conducted simultaneously in all the sixteen regions of the country.

He emphasized that in order to avoid overcrowding, multiple centers would be used for the screening process, with the number of centers per region determined by the number of applications received.

He stated that for the Greater Accra region, where large numbers are expected, “we are looking at possibly using between 10 to 15 centers a day.”

“The system will automatically allocate applicants to screening centers. So, for example, we have decided that every screening center should not screen more than 1,000 a day. And even the 1,000, you screen 500 in the morning, and screen 500 in the afternoon.”

He also emphasized that the system will allocate applicants to the scheduled sessions, with non-compliance attracting automatic disqualification.

The minister thereby cautioned applicants to strictly comply with the schedules to avoid being unnecessarily disqualified.

He also stated that the process will take turns, where one agency will have theirs nationwide until they are done before another agency starts. This, he said, would help manage the larger numbers.

The minister further emphasized that the recruitment process will be free and fair, noting that the system will select qualified candidates based on merit.

He emphasized the rumors that selection has already begun are completely untrue, assuring that such will not happen under the watch of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

“I want to reassure the public that we are committed to transparency and accountability throughout the recruitment process. We will ensure that all applicants are treated with dignity and respect and that the process is conducted in a fair and impartial manner.”

Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior

The minister added that the ministry and its various agencies are looking for “talented, dedicated, and patriotic individuals who are committed to serving their country.”

He therefore urged qualified and interested people to apply, describing it as “a great opportunity to join a noble profession and contribute to the development of our nation.”
