Peter Okoye launches wine company
It can be recalled that Peter Okoye recently launched his wine company which was attended by several A-list artists in Ghana. it is worth noting that Ghana is the production base for the “Pan-African beverage”.
More so, the company is 100 percent self-funded by a group of friends made up of former Wall Street bankers, Private Equity Professionals, Multinational African Business Executives, and Peter Okoye.
That notwithstanding, the company also operates as a free-zone entity with the goal of exporting the majority of the product to the rest of Africa and the diaspora.
Meanwhile, Peter Okoye, disclosed in an interview that he is making more money;than he did under P-Square- the defunct music group he shared with Paul Okoye, his twin brother.
Peter speaks about ‘The Prodigal’
Peter Okoye was speaking about ‘The Prodigal ‘, his debut studio album as a;solo artist, and also talked about freedom which he said comes with defining his music style.
“Call it greed or selfishness, it’s your own cup of tea. I share with nobody. Yes, [I share with] my management and my team… But I’m doing my own thing. I’m freer. I’m making more money. Freedom is key… Moneywise, if I used to share three ways, I share alone.
“What am I doing music for? It’s about doing it how I feel it. It’s not even about the money. But when it comes to that, I make more than I was while in the group.”
Speaking on why he named his 16-track album ‘The Prodigal’, Peter emphasized;that the title was carefully chosen to reflect how successful he is. He shared that initially, he wanted to use a different title however ‘The Prodigal’ was the best option for him.
“Naming my album ‘The Prodigal’, I wanted something that can suit my situation. Remember, it’s not ‘The Prodigal Son’. The meaning of ‘prodigal’ is someone who lives lavishly, being so successful and independent. Someone ready to take responsibility for his decisions. My album was supposed to be titled ‘Blessed’. But everyone already knows I’m blessed. The prodigal son ran away and came back without succeeding, I’m still succeeding.”
