In a dazzling fusion of football legend and global music ambitions, Brazilian icon Ronaldinho has released his highly anticipated debut album CAMISA 10, a massive collaborative project that unites artists from across continents just days before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off.

The album, will be released on June 9, 2026, under Ronaldinho’s newly launched label Tu Música, spotlights the former Ballon d’Or winner’s vision of bridging cultures through rhythm and melody.

At the heart of the buzz in African music circles is Ghanaian songstress Gyakie’s feature on the track “Call Me,” alongside Nigerian rising star Mavo and Ghanaian-American producer KJ Spio. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Gyakie, whose silky vocals and genre-blending style have propelled her from Ghana’s vibrant music scene to international recognition.

Fans and industry watchers are already hailing the move as a powerful example of Afrobeats’ growing global footprint.

CAMISA 10 named after the iconic No. 10 jersey synonymous with creative playmakers like Ronaldinho himself  is no ordinary debut. According to reports, the project assembles an impressive 44 artists from 18 countries and territories.

It blends genres ranging from dancehall and reggaetón to Latin pop, regional Mexican sounds, afrobeats, and urban music. Jamaican dancehall superstar Sean Paul leads the title track, setting a high-energy tone for the entire collection.

Other notable contributors include Jonas Blue, Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavárez, Dalex, and a long list of Latin and international talents.

Ronaldinho, whose full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, has long dabbled in music and entertainment beyond the pitch. Known worldwide for his dazzling dribbling, infectious smile, and flair that earned him the nickname “Ronaldinho Gaúcho,” the former FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Brazil national team star has now turned his entrepreneurial spirit toward music production. Launching Tu Música represents a strategic expansion into the global entertainment industry.

The timing, just ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America, is deliberate  aiming to capture the tournament’s unifying spirit through sound.

For Gyakie, born Grace Akosua Gyakie, the feature arrives at a perfect moment. The daughter of the late highlife legend Nana Gyakie, she has carved her own path with hits that fuse contemporary Afrobeats, R&B, and highlife elements.

Tracks like her breakout singles have earned her millions of streams and a dedicated fanbase across Africa and the diaspora. Collaborating with Ronaldinho introduces her voice to entirely new audiences in Latin America and beyond. “Call Me” is expected to deliver a smooth, danceable vibe that highlights Gyakie’s emotive delivery alongside Mavo’s distinctive flow and KJ Spio’s polished production.

Public Reactions

Music industry insiders see this as more than a one-off feature. Afrobeats has enjoyed explosive growth in recent years, with artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems achieving mainstream success worldwide. Gyakie’s inclusion on a project of this scale underscores the genre’s expanding influence.

Social media platforms lit up immediately after announcements, with Ghanaian fans expressing pride and excitement. Posts celebrating “Ghana to the world” trends dominated timelines, reflecting national excitement over one of their own sharing the stage with a football deity.

The album’s broader context is equally compelling. Ronaldinho has curated a sonic celebration of unity, mirroring the beautiful game’s ability to transcend borders. From piseiro rhythms in Brazil to cuarteto beats in Argentina and afrobeats grooves from West Africa, CAMISA 10 serves as a musical World Cup preview.

Production teams worked across time zones to blend these diverse sounds into a cohesive project that feels both festive and forward-looking.

Critics and listeners will be eager to assess how Ronaldinho’s personal touch appears on the album. While he is not listed as a primary vocalist on every track, his influence as executive producer and visionary shapes the entire endeavor.

Early reactions suggest the project successfully captures joy and celebration -qualities that defined Ronaldinho’s playing career. His famous smile and love for entertaining crowds now translate into an ambitious musical statement.

For KJ Spio, the Ghanaian-American producer, the track represents another bridge between African diaspora creativity and mainstream platforms. Working with Gyakie and Mavo, he helps anchor the Afrobeats-infused cut within the album’s eclectic mix.

Mavo, a fast-rising Nigerian talent, adds youthful energy and street credibility that complements Gyakie’s smoother style.

As streams begin to accumulate on major platforms, industry observers predict “Call Me” could become one of the album’s standout crossover moments. Gyakie has expressed gratitude for the opportunity in recent interviews and social posts, noting the surreal experience of working on a project tied to one of her childhood football heroes.

Ronaldinho’s move into music is not without precedent. Many athletes have successfully transitioned into entertainment, but few bring the global cultural cachet that the Brazilian legend commands. His partnerships and brand deals have long extended beyond sports, making Tu Música a natural evolution.

The label’s inaugural release sets a bold precedent for future projects that could further democratize music collaborations across continents.

Looking ahead, CAMISA 10 may spark additional high-profile fusions. With the World Cup approaching, expect more conversations about how sports and music intersect to drive cultural exchange.

For Ghanaian music specifically, Gyakie’s feature opens doors for other talents seeking similar international breakthroughs.

In the end, Ronaldinho’s debut album is more than a collection of songs,  it is a statement about legacy, creativity, and the power of collaboration.
