Ghana and Poland are seeking to strengthen bilateral trade and investment relations, with renewed emphasis on industrial development, agribusiness, rural investment and private sector partnerships to expand economic opportunities between the two countries.
The commitment emerged at the TOP CHARITY Change MAKERS Africa Business Mixer held in Accra.
The gathering brought together business leaders and stakeholders from Ghana, Poland and other parts of Europe to explore investment opportunities and establish commercial partnerships capable of supporting sustainable economic growth.
Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi, said Ghana was prepared to build on more than six decades of relations with Poland by strengthening business cooperation and positioning the country as a strategic entry point for investors seeking access to African markets.
“Ghana is no longer asking you to take a chance on a promise,” he stated.
Ghana Positions Itself as Investment Gateway

Mr. Ahi highlighted Ghana’s political stability, openness to business and economic potential as important considerations for Polish investors exploring opportunities in West Africa and the wider African continent.
He encouraged the visiting business community to move beyond diplomatic engagement and pursue practical commercial arrangements with Ghanaian enterprises.
Such partnerships, he indicated, could strengthen economic ties while creating opportunities for businesses in both countries to expand their operations.
Ghana’s position within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) offers an important consideration for prospective investors.
The agreement seeks to establish a single continental market for goods and services, facilitating trade among participating African countries and creating opportunities for businesses to expand beyond their domestic markets.
For Polish companies, partnerships with Ghanaian firms could provide a foundation for exploring regional supply chains, manufacturing, agricultural processing and other productive sectors.
Ghanaian businesses, in turn, could benefit from European investment, technical expertise, improved production systems and access to international commercial networks.
Mr Ahi called on Polish and Ghanaian businesses to develop partnerships founded on mutual respect, shared ambition and economic benefits for both sides.
“Ghana and Poland are seeking to deepen bilateral economic cooperation by identifying strategic investment opportunities and forging commercial partnerships to promote sustainable growth and expand trade between the two countries.”

Six Decades of Ghana-Poland Relations
The renewed engagement builds on a relationship that dates back more than 60 years, with historical exchanges in education, professional training and trade helping establish connections between the two countries.
Mr Ahi also referenced the May 2026 visit to Poland by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, describing the engagement as an important development that helped renew interest in Ghana-Poland relations.
The historical connections provide a foundation for expanding cooperation beyond traditional diplomatic exchanges into commercial ventures, investment promotion and private-sector collaboration.
However, translating longstanding relations into stronger economic outcomes will depend on the ability of businesses to identify viable projects, establish reliable partnerships and address practical considerations such as financing, market access, regulatory requirements and logistics.
The AfCFTA framework provides an additional reason for international investors to consider Ghana as a base for regional commercial activity.
Its implementation is intended to reduce trade barriers and support the movement of goods and services across participating markets, although the benefits available to individual businesses depend on applicable rules, infrastructure and market conditions.
For Ghana, stronger cooperation with Poland could support efforts to diversify investment sources, attract productive capital and establish commercial relationships that extend beyond the exchange of goods to include technology, skills and industrial expertise.
Business and Philanthropy Build New Connections

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Omenaa Foundation, Omenaa Mensah, described the inaugural TOP CHARITY Change MAKERS Africa Business Mixer as an important step towards rebuilding connections between Europe and Africa through business.
Drawing on her Polish and Ghanaian heritage, Mrs Mensah said she had long sought to establish a bridge between the two regions, with business cooperation forming a central part of that ambition.
“Business will be central to establishing a renewed relationship between Europe and Africa.”

She explained that although the Foundation’s work encompasses art, business and philanthropy, the gathering was specifically designed to highlight commercial opportunities and encourage cooperation between Polish and Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
The event therefore provided a platform for business leaders to explore common interests, exchange ideas and consider relationships that could lead to investment and commercial partnerships.
The involvement of business stakeholders from different European markets also created an opportunity to broaden discussions around Africa’s investment potential and the role of local enterprises in developing cross-border commercial relationships.
For Ghanaian entrepreneurs, engagement with international business networks can provide opportunities to establish new distribution channels, attract strategic partners and improve their understanding of overseas markets.
For foreign investors, working with local businesses can offer valuable knowledge of domestic market conditions, consumer demand and regulatory processes.
The long-term value of the initiative will depend on whether discussions translate into concrete business agreements, investment commitments and projects that generate measurable economic benefits.
