Sean “Diddy” Combs has received an updated projected prison release date following his recent transfer to a new federal facility. The music mogul is now scheduled for release on February 6, 2028, nearly a month earlier than the previous date of March 2, 2028, according to records confirmed by Page Six.
Combs, 56, was moved last month from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low, a low-security prison in Pennsylvania. The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer but declined to provide specific reasons, citing privacy, safety and security protocols.
The change in release date comes after a turbulent period at Fort Dix. Multiple reports detailed allegations that Combs enjoyed special treatment while incarcerated there, including access to contraband items such as alcohol and a cellphone, as well as paid services from other inmates for meals, cleaning and massages.
These claims, first widely reported by NBC News, led to increased scrutiny and disciplinary measures.
Combs also sustained a head injury during his time at Fort Dix and was taken to a hospital. It was reported that the injury resulted from him hitting his head on a bunk bed, though other accounts circulated about a possible altercation. The Bureau of Prisons has disputed some of the more dramatic claims surrounding the incident.
Duration of Sentence
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation for prostitution. A jury acquitted him of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. He was sentenced in October 2025 and initially held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn before transfer to Fort Dix.
His projected release date has fluctuated several times during his incarceration. Adjustments have reflected factors such as good-time credits, participation in programs, disciplinary infractions and facility transfers. The latest move to Allenwood appears to have contributed to the earlier February 2028 date, though officials have not publicly detailed the exact calculation.

A representative for Combs has previously stated that he remains focused on serving his sentence and returning to his family. His legal team continues to challenge aspects of the conviction and sentence through the appeals process.
The transfer to Allenwood places Combs in a different environment from the larger and more crowded Fort Dix facility. Allenwood Low houses a smaller inmate population and is located in a more rural part of Pennsylvania.
About Combs
Combs rose to prominence in the 1990s as a producer, rapper and founder of Bad Boy Records, launching the careers of major artists and building a business empire that included fashion, media and spirits. His high-profile legal troubles and subsequent conviction marked a dramatic fall from the peak of his influence in the entertainment industry.
As he continues his sentence at the Pennsylvania facility, attention remains on both his remaining time behind bars and the ongoing legal efforts by his attorneys. The February 6, 2028, date represents the current projection from the Bureau of Prisons and is subject to change based on future developments.

Combs’ attorney was reached out for comment on the updated release date but did not immediately receive a response. The Bureau of Prisons maintains an inmate locator database that the public and media periodically check for updates on projected release dates.
For now, the confirmed February 2028 timeline offers the latest official indication of when Combs is expected to complete his federal sentence and reenter society.
