Ghanaian musician, Kwaw Kese has waded into the raging debate about the relationship between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists, as he opined that there is indeed a cordial relationship that exists between the two sets of artists.
This comes after Shatta Wale hurled insults at Nigerian artists in reaction to claims that he can’t fill the O2 Arena like Wizkid did. In Shtatta Wale’s rants, he claimed that Ghanaians are the main reason why most Nigerian artists have become stars, therefore, they should also reciprocate the favor by supporting Ghanaian artists.
Reacting to Shatta Wale’s claim, Kwaw Kese posited that Nigerian artists have a far greater advantage than Ghanaian artists when it comes to the entertainment industry. Therefore, instead of starting a ‘beef’ within the industry, a partnership would rather be a more sensible approach.
“If any Ghana musician thinks fighting Nigerian artists is the way to go, he’s fooling himself. They’re ahead of this Showbiz thing. We should tap into the blessings”.

Kwaw Kese further listed a few collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists. He iterated that there is togetherness between these two major players on the African continent.
“Burna + Blacko Wizkid + King Promise Davido+ Stonebwoy. Don’t act like there’s no love. It’s there”.

Shatta Wale, aside taking a swipe at Nigerian artists during his much-touted Freedom Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, took to his twitter page to hurl more insults on the Nigerian artists.
“As for Nigerians they think they can always say what they want to say. Fuck your talks, ya’ll who think I spoke, this is the truth.
“I don’t even remember you guys promoting Ghanaian artiste in your country, until you guys will realize, your artiste ‘blow’ in Ghana, to say thank you.”

Nigerians Backlash Shatta Wale
Several Nigerians have criticized Shatta Wale over his rants and Nigerian singer, Vic O added his voice to the issue. Vic O took to his Instagram page to chide Shatta Wale to battle for using unprintable words on musicians from the West African country.
In the said video shared on Instagram, Vic O vowed to resign from music if the dancehall artist, Shatta Wale wins the contest.
“You have the guts to be insulting Nigerian artistes. I don’t care what they must have done to you. If anybody offends you in the Nigerian music industry, call the person’s name and insult the person, don’t include everybody because if you include everybody, that means I’m among them. If you try that next time, you will ever regret boy. If you say you’re a good singer or a good rapper, I challenge you to a rap battle, to a sing battle. Let us see what you can do. Be careful boy, be careful how you run your mouth”.

That notwithstanding, Nigerian actor Yul Edochie requested that Shatta Wale must apologise for disrespecting musicians from his country.
According to him, the dancehall artiste’s comments are tantamount to “hate” and are “too low” for a man like him.
“I’m a fan of your music. Your track with Beyonce is always on repeat in my car. No matter what is pissing you off, a man like you with a large fan base should be using it to promote peace and unity among Africans and the rest of the world. You should apologize for such a statement”.
