Family of A Policewoman Claims GHC226,104.16 from StarLife Assurance

The family claiming the check

StarLife Assurance has paid an amount of Two Hundred and Twenty-Six Thousand, One Hundred and Four Ghana Cedis, Sixteen Pesewas to the children of a deceased client.

The payment of the benefits was under two of StarLife’s flagship insurance solutions – Ultimate Protection Plus and Child Lifeline Plus.

The deceased client, Rosemond Asantewaa Acheampong, a Police Officer under the Adweso District Police Command in Koforidua, left behind two children and a husband. She signed up for StarLife’s Ultimate Protection Plus and Child Lifeline Plus solutions in 2018 and 2020 respectively, with a total contribution of GHC7,463.78 at the time of her demise.

Though bemoaning their loss, Officers of the Regional Police Headquarters, Gallaway, and the immediate family of the deceased, comprising of her husband and two children, breathed a sigh of relief and expressed surprise when StarLife presented the cheque to the family to support the children for life.

Presenting the cheque to the deceased client’s family, Edward Abakah-Hanson, Southern Zonal Manager at StarLife Assurance, stated that the move by StarLife Assurance is another proof that the company is committed to honouring its obligation.

“This payment is a testament of our commitment to supporting our clients and their families in difficult times. The future of her children, who are the beneficiaries of her policies, is secured as a result of her decision to join the StarLife family by signing up for the two solutions.”

Edward Abakah-Hanson

The Southern Zonal Manager at StarLife Assurance used the opportunity to educate the public while stressing the need to sign up for StarLife Assurance packages.

“We want to encourage the general public to critically consider their financial future and that of their families by taking insurance solutions that will benefit them in the medium to long term. Now is the time to take a policy with StarLife and not later.”

Edward Abakah-Hanson

The Family Expresses Happiness

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the children, Wilfred Acheampong, Trustee and husband of the deceased client, expressed appreciation to the insurance company for going by the terms of the policy and making the payment.

“We are grateful to StarLife Assurance for staying true and committed to the terms of the policy with my late wife. We are very elated about this important claim payment since it is going to help with the education and welfare needs of the children.”

Wilfred Acheampong

According to StarLife, the dreams of providing quality education for children and wards will not be attained until there is a lifetime commitment to invest and make adequate provisions towards financing the cost of educating them from the cradle to the highest level of quality education.

The StarLife Child Lifeline Plus is an insurance solution that helps an assured plan financially to ensure that your child receives quality education even in the event of the policyholder’s permanent disability or premature demise.

Meanwhile, Ultimate Protection Plus provides huge replacement income for the family of the breadwinner when he or she is not in a position to cater for them due to total permanent disability, dread disease, or death. Most importantly, it ensures that every family’s financial future is secured upon the demise of the breadwinner.
