Ghanaian radio and television entertainment pundit, Kojo Kinn has disclosed that marketing builds a perception and an expectation about an individual.

He explained that one’s perception about the other leads to expectations, however, if it turns out to be the opposite, one gets disappointed.

He said:

“In Marketing, we use perceptions and expectations. My perception about you builds my expectations. So if I meet you and it turns out to be the opposite, then, you have disappointed me. If it is known that one who takes drugs behaves in a certain way, that is the expectation. So if the individual turns out to behave the opposite you turn out to doubt what is said about the person. But when some traces is found in your actions, then it confirms what is said about you. That’s why it is required of you to do a lot”.

Kojo Kinn

According to the entertainment pundit, one should inquire to know how one behaves when he or she deals with drugs.

He cited examples like womanizing, alcoholism, and weed smoking. Explaining in detail, he said that if an individual is tagged as any of the examples cited and happens to be seen at such locations, automatically, he or she is perceived to be what people say about him or her.

He advised that one should try to do things over a period of time to be able to change the perception of people’s thoughts.

Kojo Kinn a musician, revealed that Efya’s demeanor was rated during Glitz’s interview because of how she was tagged as a drug dealer.

He said:

“But watching Glitz interview, people rated her demeanor and how she spoke depicts the tag on her as a drug dealer”.

Kojo Kinn revealed that Okyeame Kwame has branded himself in the corporate world as a fine.

He added that Okyeame Kwame was trolled by netizens because of the product he was selling and due to how he has branded himself in the industry. He said that if one is not careful as a brand when switching to negativity, without looking out for the perception about them from fans, he or she may fall without gaining its initial recognition.

He said:

“With Kwame’s, it is a feedback. So some of the feedback turned out to be negative. Now, he as a brand, it is something he thought of before doing. When the trolls came, I wasn’t surprised because the brand image of Okyeame Kwame is that of a fine gentleman, corporate, one who promotes culture and all of that, that was why he was trolled by netizens when he wore the boxers.

“To a certain extent some people reacted negatively because Okyeame Kwame is known as a brand, forgetting Kwame is selling himself with a different product”.

Kojo Kinn

The entertainment pundit recalled when Okyeame Kwame later debunked the negative perception about the product he was selling when the attention was too much.

He expressed that coming out to debunk the negativity about him created a different picture and massaged the feedback in his favor.

He added that even though a section of Okyeame Kwame’s fans will cut him off forever due to the negative perception around him but is looking at what he is gaining from what he is doing.

He said:

“You the individual thinking of cutting him off doesn’t matter to him because he is the one dictating the pace. If you should cut him off, he knows what he has gained can get him something else to be able to win another fans to himself. So if you are not cautious about negativity, it won’t help but there are other negativities that one brings upon themselves, even though some can be debunked but leaving it like that can make you lose the fans you have earned with hard work”.
