American rapper, Cardi B has clapped back at critics who are backlashing her husband, Offset, and her for buying their three-year-old daughter, Kulture a Richard Mille watch at the tune of 250,000 dollars.
People were confused as to why a toddler would even need a watch, much less one that costs a quarter of a million dollars. According to the critics, the gift is too lavish for a child who just turned three. They were of the view that Cardi and her husband would not be able to keep up with this lifestyle for a long time especially when they have another child coming.
“A Richard Millie for a child? Rich people blow my mind every day. That little girl can’t even tell time yet. Just because you can afford it doesn’t mean it’s age-appropriate.
“They going to have to top each year plus they got another one on the way. I don’t think their careers or money going to last that long”.
Cardi’s clapback
However, the rapper, Cardi B who was clearly not happy about the comments from some concerned people took to social media to react to their comments. According to her if she and her husband are looking “fly” then their daughter must also look “fly”.
“Yea, kids only care about toys and candy but the thing is, kids also go outside. Kids go to restaurants; kids go to fancy places. Celebrity kids, they go do red carpets. If I’m fly, and daddy’s fly, then so is the kid. If I’m wearing Channel, my kid’s having the same thing. It’s not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they’d be outside in diapers”.
After this tweet, she received a lot of support from other people. Some mentioned that it was actually a smart choice. They explained that Kulture has several toys already which she will one day grow out of. However, the watch is an investment that will appreciate with time and they can sell it to make more money.
Cardi B and Offset’s extravagant lifestyle
This is not the first time Offset has gifted his and Cardi B’s daughter with an extravagant gift. Well, anyone familiar with Offset and Cardi B’s spending habits would not even be surprised about the gift.
It can be recalled that when Kulture turned one, they spent over 400,000 dollars for a ‘Word Party-themed’ birthday event. Kulture received presents such as a ‘Word Party’ pendant created by Eliantte & Co., while 7,000 dollars was spent on a Venus ET Fleur floral arrangement spelling out Kulture’s name.
Kulture is also the owner of her own Birkin bag, which Offset gave her last year. The price tag can range anywhere from 40,000 dollars to 500,000 dollars. Some thought the present was too much for a toddler. Cardi B, however, defended her husband for giving their daughter such an expensive bag.
Meanwhile, Cardi B and Offset are expecting their second child to arrive in the coming weeks. The little one will make Offset a father of five kids and Cardi, a mother of two.
