Controversial Entertainment pundit, Mr. Logic has asserted that the newly crowned VGMA artist of the year, Diana Hamilton, did not win in that category based on certain reasons.

Mr. Logic, entertainment pundit

Controversial Entertainment pundit, Mr. Logic has asserted that the newly crowned VGMA artist of the year, Diana Hamilton, did not win in that category based on certain reasons.

Speaking in an interview, the artist manager noted that per the compilation of votes from the board of the VGMA, the academy, and votes from the public which constitutes 40% of the entire vote cast, “Diana Hamilton did not win the artiste of the year”.

He further explained that the award should be given to an artist who represents the entire industry and all the genres in general. According to him, Diana Hamilton is only playing a single role as a gospel artiste therefore, “it is not enough reason for her to be nominated in the category in the first place”.

Further speaking on the issue, Mr. Logic was of the view that gospel musicians should not be included in the Artiste of the year category. In his submission, he noted that the gospel is not a genre, therefore it needs not to be included in the award scheme. Mr. Logic also claimed that there is no award scheme in the world which has gospel musicians dominating their topmost category because “it is not a genre”.

Mr. Logic also accused the board and academy of the VGMA of “unfairness” in the award scheme. He raised concerns about the choice of nominees and winners at the VGMA awards. He capitalized on Abiana’s confession about her novelty to the music industry to push his agenda that the award scheme is not being objective in its operations.

“The board and the academy are making mistakes because, it looks as if there is some sort of favoritism going on, which is not fair. We have had females who have been in the industry for the past three years who can equally sing so well like Abiana. Abiana just entered the music industry and you are awarding her? There is something wrong somewhere and we must address it”.

He also mentioned that his submission was not an attack on Abiana but a general issue that needed to be addressed.

That notwithstanding, Mr. Logic stated that Yaw Tog’s win was as a result of crooked operations within the VGMA board and academy.

“Yaw Tog, for instance, people are saying I hate him. But some guys went viral than Yaw Tog. I said earlier that I don’t even know if I should blame the votes. Because if it is all about the votes. Then anything can get in there”.

Speaking of Yaw Tog, Mr. Logic has constantly criticized the performances and songs of the ‘Kumerican’ rapper. It can be recalled that Mr. Logic recently stated that he sees no sense in the rapper’s song because it makes no impact.

However, during this interview, Mr. Logic showered praises on Yaw Tog for his “amazing performance at the VGMA”.

But he was also quick to criticize Yaw Tog’s performance. He said that “Yaw Tog was not in control of the performance until his colleagues joined him on stage. But I was pleased with his performance. Congratulations to him on his first win at the VGMA”.
