The four-year-old daughter of rapper Fetty Wap, Lauren Maxwell, is dead, her mother has confirmed.
Turquoise Miami, who is the mother of Lauren Maxwell, shared the devastating news in a heartbreaking Instagram post. The mourning mom wrote alongside an adorable video of Lauren playing around in a swimming pool.
“This is my amazing, beautiful, funny, vibrant, loving, talented, smart, and hardheaded princess mermaid Aquarius. If you see this post scrolling by with her comment or just say to yourself ‘I love you LAUREN’ because they say that souls can feel your love #rip”.
While the child’s death was only just confirmed by her family in this post, multiple reports suggest Lauren actually died in late June.
A representative for Fetty Wap did not immediately respond to the media’s request for comment.
Meanwhile, Fetty Wap has not publicly commented on the death of his daughter. However, following his performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami last weekend, the ‘Trap Queen’ rapper dedicated his performance to his late daughter. He wrote on his Instagram Story: “LoLo, daddy did that for you last night baby girl”.
Unfortunately, Lauren’s death is not the only recent loss in Fetty Wap’s life. His younger brother whom he referred to as his twin died last October. The rapper who couldn’t seem to get over the death of his brother at that time wrote:
“Stop asking me am I ok…No, I’m not Ok. I done lost so many brothers that this was almost starting to feel normal…but little brother man it feels like 2017 all over again this same feeling. I know your slogan ‘don’t cry for me slide for me’ I just don’t know what I am going tell my nephew when he asks me why I ain’t make sure you were ok”.

That notwithstanding, in addition to Lauren Maxwell, Fetty Wap is also father to five other children: Aydin, 10, Zaviera, 6, Khari, 5, Amani, 5, and Zy, who was born in 2018.

Well, moving away from the sad side of Fetty Wap, it is worth noting that the rapper recently partnered with social media entrepreneur Branden Hampton, the mind behind popular Instagram accounts like @Money and @Marijuana, to launch ‘GROW.HOUSE’, a crypto-generating cannabis farming game.
Fetty Wap during an interview said:
“Honestly, I’d never heard of the crypto world in the cannabis world going together before this. In this game you are digitally growing cannabis, harvesting it, selling it. It’s serious. And there’s real money involved: the GROW Token”.

It is also worth mentioning that beyond recreation and creation, Fetty uses cannabis for medical reasons. In fact, the rapper has been medicating with the plant for over a decade.
Fetty was born with glaucoma and ultimately lost an eye because of it. Interestingly, “Several clinical studies have found that cannabinoids or marijuana reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) as well as do most conventional glaucoma medications”.
Fetty Wap who has already lost an eye to glaucoma disclosed that he might go blind when he stops using cannabis. “Multiple doctors have suggested I use cannabis to treat my glaucoma. Every now and then I do have times where there’s a lot of built-up pressure. It really feels like somebody’s just like knocking on your face”.
