Richard Kweku Asante, better known as Kalybos has come out on social media to address issues arising from the campaign rally he joined with some actors days ago.
The actor took to his Instagram page and in a long caption with a picture of him and John Dumelo, addressed the public.

Responding to the outcry, Kalybos said that there is nothing hypocritical about campaigning for a political party he stands for, and it does not show enmity. He also added that it is the right of every citizen in a democratic country to choose freely which political party he decides to support.
He then iterated that he is still on good terms with John Dumelo, and differences in opinion don’t mar it.
“For your information, John Dumelo and I are very cool and we are not determined enemies. So stop creating room for that cus he knows what democracy and friendship is. Meaning we disagree based on your opinion”.
He further emphasized that people should not take their campaign for Lydia from the negative angle but rather look at it with a positive lens. He said
“Myself with some colleagues went to Ayawaso West Wagon, Ablekuma North and James Town to campaign for our beloved Party NPP and our President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo. Why campaign AGAINST whiles you can actually campaign FOR. It’s two different energy. One talks of Good and the other breeds Evil”.
In a backlash, he criticized some people calling them ‘hypocrites’, owing to the fact that, they only came out to support John Dumelo after he had gone to campaign for Lydia Alhassan.
“The hypocrisy in some of us so called friends are overwhelmingly surprising. A wake up call came for those who chant we #idey4u for John Dumelo who are supposed friends and colleagues of John but have never posted or shown support towards his campaign until KALYBOS and Co went to show support for their party NPP. Now we are seeing people posting John, writing essays with BIG grammar as if they attended Montessori, exhibiting their Hypocrisy whiles we the ‘Sytocians’ did what we believe in. Hmm ‘asem ooo’, just be real to yourself and others”.

He later concluded by wishing John Dumelo all the best in the coming elections.
A number of people on social media have sided with Kalybos and have approved that what he said, was very right. On the other hand some are still backlashing him and questioning why they campaigned for Lydia knowing well that John was also contending in that constituency.
It can be recalled that Kalybos was seen among other colleague actors including Prince David Osei and Bismark the Joke, campaigning for the incumbent MP of the Awayaso West Wougoun constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan who happens to be John Dumelo’s contender.
This followed a public controversy as a section of Ghanaians think the actors were being hypocritical to have supported a candidate against their colleague actor. Some actors like Beverly Afaglo, gave her fair shots against Kalybos and friends.
