The landlord of the three-bedroom apartment that Shatta Wale and his management got for the musician’s mother has set the records straight.
The landlord, who refused to disclose his name, clarified that Shatta Wale had only rented the property for two years and not purchased it as speculated.
He explained that the musician rented the apartment for GHC3,000 per month.
“The house belongs to me, and Shatta Wale, along with his management, came to rent the apartment for two years. They rented it for GHC 3,000 a month. When I realized that Shatta Wale’s management had come to my building, I was happy, but they dealt directly with my team, and all payments went through them.”

The landlord went on to express shock after chancing on claims by Shatta Wale’s manager that the house was bought.
“I was shocked when I saw on social media that the house was sold. I went to my junior brother, who was involved in the transaction at the time Shatta was renting the house and asked him about it. He told me that it was a lie. All that Sammy Flex said about buying the house is fake.”

He also stated that Elsie Avemegah, Shatta Wale’s mother, had moved out of the apartment. “Shatta Wale’s mother said she didn’t like the place because there was no flowing water, along with other excuses,” he added.
The landlord added that her decision to leave was due to reasons best known to her.
“Meanwhile, we have a drilled mechanic well that supplies water to the building at all times. She didn’t even stay in the building for more than a week. So, I made my team refund the money to the account that Shatta Wale’s management had given me.”

In July 2024, reports emerged about Shatta Wale’s mother, Elsie Amevegah, facing difficult living conditions following what was described as ‘ten years of neglect’ by her son. This sparked public criticism.
In a recent response to the series of the backlash, Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale’s manager, took to social media on December 3, 2024, to announce that the musician had got a house for his mother.
Sammy Flex Addresses Alleged Denial Over Gifted Home
Artist manager, Sammy Flex addressed the controversy surrounding an alleged audio recording of Shatta Wale’s mother, Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, denying that her son had gifted her a three-bedroom house.
This follows Sammy Flex’s earlier announcement that the dancehall star had secretly purchased the home at Abokobi for his mother after she accused him of neglecting her months ago.
In the alleged audio shared by YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, Madam Elsie is heard denying the claim and threatening to expose Sammy Flex for spreading false information.
“Before I get to Atsiavi, if you do not come online and talk to the whole Ghana and remove that thing from social media, you will regret unknowing me. You will regret working with my son.”
Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah
Responding on his YouTube channel, Sammy Flex clarified that his initial announcement about the home was intended to counter the negative narratives surrounding Shatta Wale, particularly after he had gifted financial support to Priscilla Osei and her mother during a recent trip to Kumasi.
Sammy Flex further explained that the alleged audio recording of Madam Elsie was one he had personally received from her but was leaked online by unknown individuals.
He also shared additional audio clips in which Madam Elsie, appearing angry, issued threats against him.
The incident has sparked widespread speculation online, with fans debating the authenticity of the claims and the motives behind the conflicting narratives.
