Multi-talented Ghanaian female singer from Lynx Entertainment, Maya Blu has disclosed her journey from MTN Hitmaker to Lynx Entertainment.
According to the singer, she used to sing at Hotels, Lounges, and Restaurants which was more like piano and vocal singing with the likes of songs of Celine Dion, and Whitney Houston. She added that such songs opened her vocal cords due to their high-pitch.
She recalled a guy she met who helped her to challenge herself and within a year she realized she had achieved a lot until Covid-19 came and they couldn’t continue with the live band performances.
The singer said she decided to join MTN Hitmaker after Covid-19 set in to be able to showcase her musical prowess.
She recounted:
“I remember I sent an intro video. I was at home and then they picked me, and then they asked me to come for the audition. And then, here lies the case, now everything was okay and my boss needed me at work but I couldn’t go. I couldn’t go to work. So I had to choose between my job and then the MTN Hitmaker”.

She further stated that she chose the Hitmaker over her work because of the passion she has for music.
She said:
“I just wanted to do, you know, my own music. I wanted to pursue my career. Because I am so much in love with music. I can’t even lie about that.
“So I went for the audition and I made it through to the semi-finals and I was evicted again. I was crying again and Richie Mensah walked in and he just whispered into my ears that I should come to the office the next day and I just wiped my tears and left with my dad”.
