Prophet Kumchacha and Ohemaa Mercy

Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly called Prophet Kumchacha, has reacted to Ohemaa Mercy’s claims that God approved her divorce.

His comments come after Ohemaa Mercy said in a recent interview that she asked God and received God’s approval before divorcing her husband.

The famous gospel singer said she prayed for months during the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking guidance from God. According to Ohemaa Mercy, the divine confirmation encouraged her to proceed with the divorce.

However, Prophet Kumchacha said it may be possible that Ohemaa Mercy probably did not hear God but rather the devil who had disguised himself.

He quoted Bible verses showing that the devil can disguise himself as God. He added that he is not against divorce, but the use of God in the separation is a challenge.

“She did not have to use God in her divorce. She should just speak without mentioning God in her divorce.”

Several social media users agreed with Prophet Kumchacha.

“When people want to justify their actions they use God’s name. Because many people believe in God.”

Pundit Disapproves Ohemaa Mercy’s Assertion

Ola Michael expressed skepticism over gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy’s assertion that God instructed her to get a divorce.

Drawing from his own experiences, he noted that individuals hear many voices during prayers, but not all are from God. He emphasized the importance of discernment before acting on such voices.

“I have prayed on the mountains before, but not all the voices you hear are from God. That’s why God gave us the wisdom to reflect and decide if it’s right. I doubt God told Ohemaa to get a divorce.

“Ohemaa said she spoke to God and was given the go-ahead to divorce. God has given us the understanding that if a marriage is not beneficial, it is okay to divorce because it is complicated.”

Gospel musician, Brother Sammy also sparked conversation after questioning fellow gospel artist, Ohemaa Mercy’s claim that she received confirmation from God to divorce her husband, Isaac Twum-Ampofo.

Brother Sammy expressed his disbelief in the idea that God would approve a divorce, citing that God fundamentally opposes divorce.

According to him, there are very limited circumstances in which divorce could be acceptable, such as in cases of abuse or adultery.

He questioned whether these conditions were met in Ohemaa Mercy’s case, as there has been no public disclosure of either abuse or infidelity in her marriage.

He alleged that the real reason behind the divorce was financial.

“Ohemaa got the divorce because she has gotten money and did not want the ex-husband to enjoy,” he alleged.

Brother Sammy also raised concerns about the potential influence of Ohemaa Mercy’s actions on younger ministers. He questioned what she would say to those who look up to her when they come to her with similar claims.

“What will she say to the younger ministers who look up to her, when they come to tell her that they have also heard the voice of God to get a divorce? If we go on that tangent, everybody will then say they have heard clearly from God that they should get a divorce.”

Brother Sammy

A social media user commented on Brother Sammy’s statement asking how someone can deliberately go to the mountains because of divorce, adding that God hates divorce.

The social media user also quizzed why some women ignore men when they have money.
