A source has disclosed how Rihanna is feeling after A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for an assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a November 2021 shooting.
According to the source, Rihanna, who is in the third trimester of pregnancy, was in shock, and it was “certainly not what she wanted to deal with before giving birth”.
“This drama is the last thing Rihanna needs right now. She wants to be mellow, relaxed, and focused 100 percent on the arrival of her baby, not stressing out!” the source revealed. “This arrest was not something they saw coming”.
The source noted that Rihanna made a point to navigate the public side of her pregnancy on her own terms, however, now, things seem out of her control.
It is worth noting that A$AP Rocky was detained after arriving on a private jet from Barbados, where he had been on vacation with Rihanna.
The source further speaking revealed that Rihanna intends to give birth in Barbados, her native country. “Despite strong ties to New York, the plan was to make L.A. the home base once the baby came”, the source explained. “However, Rihanna wants to give birth in Barbados and spend the first few months with the baby there before coming stateside”.
Details of Why A$AP Rocky was Arrested
Rapper, A$AP Rocky, was arrested in connection with a shooting in November, 2021. Per reports, the star was taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, as he returned from a holiday with Rihanna.
Police had been investigating the star for his potential involvement in a non-fatal shooting in Hollywood last year. He was released on bail of $550,000 shortly after his arrest.
The Los Angeles Police Department indicated that the arrest was made in connection with an argument between two acquaintances which resulted in shots being fired.
The victim told police that A$AP Rocky, who was walking with two others, approached him with a handgun on the street. They shot at the victim three to four times and one of the bullets grazed his left hand, according to police reports. The rapper will make his first appearance in court on August 17, 2022.
A$AP Rocky Previously Convicted
It can be recalled that A$AP Rocky was previously given a two-year suspended sentence for his role in a brawl in Stockholm in August 2019. The rapper and two members of his entourage were convicted for kicking and beating a 19-year-old man after an argument. They claimed they acted in self-defense, but the court rejected their argument.
The case drew worldwide media attention after then-US president Donald Trump unsuccessfully tried to secure A$AP Rocky’s release from prison as he awaited trial.
The news comes just a week after the couple was caught up in false breakup rumors that went viral on Twitter. A fashion insider claimed Rihanna dumped Rocky after he cheated on her with shoe designer, Amina Muaddi. Muaddi released a statement on her Instagram denying the “vile” rumor.
