Selena Gomez

In a deeply personal examination, Selena Gomez has shared new insights into her health journey, revealing that she is unable to bear children due to significant medical issues.

The multi-talented star, known for her music, acting, and advocacy work, disclosed that her health conditions present risks that would endanger both her life and that of a potential baby.

“I unfortunately … Have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

Despite the emotional toll of this revelation, Selena expressed a sense of peace and optimism about her future. “I’m now in a much better place,” she said.

Selena’s plans for having children involve exploring options like surrogacy and adoption.

“I find it a blessing that wonderful people are willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different.”

Selena’s openness about her health is part of her broader advocacy for mental health and awareness about chronic illnesses. Last year, she candidly discussed her battle with lupus.

She revealed that her lupus diagnosis in 2014 included a serious warning about the risk of stroke and the challenges of medication side effects.

“So, hearing from a doctor, ‘You could have had a stroke onstage, you could have died’, it was a lot,” she recounted. Selena also addressed the public scrutiny she faced regarding her fluctuating weight, attributing it to her medication. “I was being shamed for gaining weight because of my lupus,” she said.

In a poignant moment, Selena admitted that she had previously downplayed the impact of the negativity on her well-being.

“I lied about it not affecting me. I didn’t want it to bother other people who were experiencing the same thing. I just think it’s so unfair; I don’t think that anybody deserves to feel less than.”

Selena’s health journey began making headlines in January 2014 when she privately completed a two-week stay at a rehab facility, later revealing that she had been diagnosed with lupus and undergoing chemotherapy.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause inflammation and damage to various parts of the body, including the skin, joints, kidneys, and heart. Despite her ongoing battle with lupus, Selena has shown incredible resilience.

In September 2017, she announced on Instagram that she had undergone a kidney transplant due to complications from the disease. She publicly thanked her friend Francia Raisa for her life-saving donation, expressing deep gratitude for the act of selflessness.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift

Selena Gomez revealed the depth of her lasting friendship with pop star Taylor Swift. She gives fans an inside look at their close bond, from sharing secrets about ‘Vanderpump Rules’ to discussing their shared challenges in the spotlight, highlighting what makes their relationship unique.

As Selena Gomez balances her music and acting careers, she reflects on her creative journey and the reasons behind her current hiatus from new music. It delves into the supportive friendship between Gomez and Taylor Swift, offering a glimpse into how their professional lives intertwine and the deep connection they share beyond the glitz and glamour.

Recent rumors suggest Gomez feels like an ‘outsider’ and has distanced herself from Taylor Swift’s squad, citing that she feels she has outgrown Swift’s circle of friends.

Gomez shared insights into her close friendship with Taylor Swift. She revealed that they often bond over their mutual interest in reality TV, particularly when discussing the latest drama from ‘Vanderpump Rules.’

Gomez mentioned that while she occasionally seeks Swift’s advice on music or navigating life in the spotlight, their conversations mostly revolve around light-hearted gossip, much like any other friendship.

Gomez claimed of Taylor Swift, “She is really like a big sister to me,” and she explained that their discussions frequently touch on the latest season of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’

Gomez added, “I’m on The Valley now. I’ve watched every episode of Vanderpump, so I don’t care if it’s bad!”

Gomez and Swift first met back in 2008 while they were each dating a Jonas brother, Gomez with Nick Jonas and Swift with Joe Jonas, and their friendship has grown ever since.

The two pop stars have publicly supported each other at award shows, celebrated milestones together, and even collaborated on various projects. Gomez has previously joined Swift on stage during her tours and made a cameo in the music video for Swift’s hit ‘Bad Blood.’

Gomez also addressed her music career, stating that she has no immediate plans to release new music aside from the tracks she recorded for her upcoming film, ‘Emilia Perez.’ These songs were penned by French singer-songwriters Camille and Clement Ducol.

“Don’t know if I’m ready, you know?” Selena confessed.

“It’s a vulnerable space. Acting has always been my first love. Music is just a hobby that went out of control. I don’t think I’m going anywhere. I’m just not ready yet.”
