Well, speaking of bagging awards, Sarkodie in a just-ended interview shared his thoughts on why Ghanaian artists were not nominated for the BET Awards and Grammys.
Sarkodie registered his displeasure in how Ghanaians fail to recognize their local artists for their works. He further explained that Ghanaians turn to ignore what their artists achieve and focus on what others have achieved, ignoring the hard work Ghanaian acts put in their work.
He mentioned that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been able to secure deals with international acts like Beyonce and Keri Hilson but Ghanaians rather compare them to the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy, who to him, are not doing anything extraordinary than what the Ghanaian artists are doing.

He further stated that Ghanaian acts are doing very well with their crafts and deserve the necessary support of their fan bases to push them to the top just as Nigerians are doing.
It is worth mentioning that Sarkodie is among the few musicians in Ghana who have made it to the award scheme and also the first-ever artist winner of BET’s ‘Best International flow award’.
In the same vein, Sarkodie debunked claims of being paid by NPP to campaign for them in the 2020 general election.
Sarkodie after releasing his ‘Happy Day’ song featuring the Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene was rumored to have received a huge amount of money to campaign for them.
It can be recalled that Kevin Taylor, a controversial US-based Ghanaian journalist castigated Sarkodie for remaining silent over the recent happenings in the country and alleged that Sarkodie has been bribed by the NPP stay mute.
Others also claimed that the rapper’s song was politically affiliated with the NPP, and this amounted to the reason why he always remain silent about issues that goes against the ruling party.
In reaction to this, Sarkodie revealed that he was never approached by the NPP for his endorsement. He also added that whatever he did was for the masses.
