The CEO of Burniton Music and dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has disclosed that he will soon be celebrating the first anniversary of his multiple award-winning album, ‘Anloga Junction’.
Speaking in an interview, the artist revealed that in marking the anniversary, he will be holding a virtual concert. He also mentioned that he has released several albums, however, ‘Anloga Junction’ has been an outstanding album.
“A lot of albums have been released, but one that stands out and won several awards is the ‘Anloga Junction’. Therefore, it tells you that the plans that we had before releasing the album, are still invoked. That has brought about the need to celebrate the album’s first anniversary with a virtual concert”.
Stonebwoy gives details about his virtual concert
Detailing how the virtual concert is going to be, the artist noted that the event which will take place at the ‘Bayview village’ will see him performing the songs off the album with his famous band. He also disclosed that there will be some surprise acts coming through to perform at the event.
“We are tackling the songs on the album in a live manner. We are doing something that has never been done before. You guys should get ready for some huge surprises. It’s going to be live and I have my band to perform with me. It’s going to happen at the Bayview village in Madina. We are only admitting a certain number of people, so that, we can still obey the protocols. It’s also for persons at home to enjoy and experience the live performance online as well”.
When asked why he will rather prefer to have a virtual show instead of the live show performance the artist indicated that “it’s going to be a semi-live concert because there will be a small number of audiences”.
Speaking further about the concert which will come off on 22nd May, he mentioned that viewers would have to pay to watch exclusively the live performance.
“You don’t need to have to watch it for free. You will have to click on a link that will be shared and you go through the procedure before you can watch. It’s just something to support the show. This is the new era of how shows are going to be. The streaming will not stop anytime now”.
Stonebwoy will be performing with Kojo Antwi
It can be recalled that Stonebwoy had the opportunity to perform with Ghanaian musical legend, Kojo Antwi, in Kojo’s annual ‘Experience concert’. Stonebwoy speaking at the back of this stated that it was an honor for him to be on the same stage with the musical giant. Stonebwoy also disclosed that he will be performing alongside Kojo Antwi for his ‘Anloga Junction’ concert.
“There are some people that I featured on the album across the world. But in Ghana here I featured our own father in the music industry, Kojo Antwi. So definitely look out for him. This is my second time performing with him and is a big deal for me”.
‘Anloga Junction’ is Stonebwoy’s expansive fourth studio album, and it was released in April last year. The fifteen-track album features an array of collaborations from both local as well as international artists. That notwithstanding, the album has won him several awards and even most recently won him the ‘Reggaeville album of the year’.
