Ghanaian dancehall musician and Bhim Nation president, Stonebwoy has subtly fired back at controversial media personality, Kelvin Taylor.
This comes after Kelvin Taylor rubbished the musician’s collaboration with American rapper, Rick Ross.
It all started when the US rapper, Rick Ross revealed that he wanted to collaborate with the Bhim Nation President and other African musicians.
In a video that flew across social media platforms, Rick Ross named Stonebwoy as one of the lucky musicians to be put on his massive African-themed album.
He stated categorically that artists like Stonebwoy from Ghana, Asake from Nigeria, and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania would all be on the record.
Soon after Rick Ross made this pronouncement, he was seen in an Instagram live chat with Stonebwoy where Stonebwoy told him he would love to have a collaboration with Rihana and Taylor Swift.
Upon seeing the news, Kelvin Taylor rubbished the collaboration, adding that this is not an achievement.
According to him, Stonebwoy could have been happy or reacted this way if it were a better and more relevant American musician than Rick Ross.
Kelvin Taylor stated emphatically that Rick Ross is no longer relevant in the entertainment industry in America, so he is trying to use African musicians to revive his dead career.
He further added that had it not been for the support of Lil Wayne among other great American musicians, Rick Ross would have been a nobody.
Even though Stonebwoy has never replied to Kelvin Taylor’s insults before, this time, he has subtly fired back at him.
Taking to his Snapchat, Stonebwoy has noted that because Kelvin Taylor has relocated to Abroad, he talks anyhow to Ghanaians.
He questioned how the media personality would have lived or done if he had been born Abroad.
He also advised him to be humble because regardless of everything he is still a Ghanaian.
Questioning The Motive Behind Collaboration
Controversial US-based fashion critic, Firestick, questioned the motive behind Stonebwoy’s yearning to collaborate with Rihanna when according to him, there are more relevant American celebrities to work with.
Rick Ross, in an Instagram live with Stonebwoy on February 3, promised to streamline the process of making the Barbados pop singer, Rihanna, available for the collaboration, and this stirred some excitement among fans on social media.
However, amid the thrills, Firestick thinks a feature with Rihanna, whose career is currently on hold, isn’t something worth celebrating.
In a video making rounds on Twitter, Firestick insisted that Stonebwoy should’ve opted for international artists who are more relevant in this era.
“Feature with achievable names and you are mentioning music gods, idle people. Rihanna? Really? She is currently pregnant and I hope you know that. She doesn’t have time. She already has two kids; the third one is on its way and she is babysitting,” he fumed.
Firestick, however, blamed what he termed as Stonebwoy’s sour decisions on the quality of members of his team.
“You are making all these choices because you are not surrounded by solid guys. Surround yourself with conscious and wise niggas. People with open minds, and not follow backs,” he further added.
Also, Firestiick stated that Stonebwoy needs to work harder and should be able to blow globally to be able to have talented American stars for collaborations.
Meanwhile, as details remain under wraps, conversations of the ‘Stonebwoy-Rihanna’ project are underway and the feature is imminent.
Stonebwoy on American artists that influenced his career. Earlier in his conversation with Rick Ross, Stonebwoy was asked about which American artists influenced his music career, and he mentioned Jay Z, Rick Ross, and the entire hip-hop genre.
