Nigerian Afrobeats queen, Tiwa Savage, has added a bit more excitement for fans during her performance at a concert in the UK with how she reacted when she spotted her old English teacher in the crowd.
The multi-award-winning singer did the sweetest thing while performing at the Little Simz’ Meltdown Festival show in London when she stepped off the stage to meet up with the man who taught her English in school many years ago.
Tiwa Savage wasted no time in pausing her performance to go and greet her old teacher personally, and the sweet moment was captured on video.
On spotting the man who looked like he was in his late 60s, Tiwa paused her performance, stepped down from the stage and walked up to him to give him a big hug.
They had a brief chat, which excited the fans and got them screaming, with many lucky ones seated around the man taking full advantage by getting close-up pictures and videos of the Afrobreats superstar.

Tiwa Savage’s performance at the Little Simz’ Meltdown Festival over the weekend had so many beautiful moments.
She performed tracks like “Ma Lo” and “You4Me,” reminding everyone why she continues to be a mainstay in Afrobeats. The energy stayed high, the vibes intentional.
Tiwa stepped out in a white cropped tank and a floor-sweeping blush pink satin skirt. The skirt hugged the waist, then melted into soft folds near the hem. She paired it with a coordinating headscarf tied into a bow, with one long sash dropping past her shoulder.
Then there were the accessories. Chunky, clear bangles stacked on both wrists that added just the right amount of drama.
Her fans loved how her natural curls peeked out under the scarf, and with her calm, unbothered expression, she rocked the stage perfectly.
Tiwa Savage’s Ex-Husband Blames Manager Over Son’s Neglect

Former music executive Tunji Balogun, widely known as Tee Billz, ignited a fresh wave of controversy after publicly accusing Vanessa Amadi, longtime manager of his ex-wife and music star Tiwa Savage, of prioritising profit over the well-being of their son, Jamil.
In a strongly worded Instagram post that has since been deleted, Tee Billz alleged that Amadi’s tight scheduling of the singer has deprived their nine-year-old son of quality time with his mother, leaving him emotionally distressed. “I love the mother of my child,” Balogun wrote.
“But you [Vanessa] only care about your percentage. I hired you for PR, and out of guilt, Tiwa made you her manager. Now you’re milking her dry.”

He claimed that his son recently opened up about feelings of loneliness.
“Jamil told me how lonely he is. You’re a fraud. My son is hurt not having his mum around.”

The emotional post came as a surprise to fans, especially given Balogun’s recent social media praise for Savage.
Earlier this year, he shared a photo of the singer and their son spending time together, urging the public to respect their privacy and steer clear of the couple’s personal matters. In 2024, he publicly lauded Savage’s strength as a single mother, acknowledging his own shortcomings.
Balogun and Savage’s relationship drew widespread public attention when they married in 2013 in a high-profile wedding. Their son, Jamil, was born in 2015.
However, the marriage ended in a highly publicised split in 2018, surrounded by mutual accusations including infidelity, substance abuse, and emotional struggles.
Following their separation, Tiwa Savage spoke candidly in a rare interview about the breakdown of the relationship.
She refuted allegations of infidelity and explained that she had to end their professional collaboration because it had become toxic.
