The management of imprisoned actress, Akuapem Poloo, is not happy with;an initiative by comedian, Derick Kobina Bonney popularly known as DKB to help Akuapem Poloo.
This follows the comedian taking to social media to ask;Ghanaians to donate some amount of money to help Akuapem Poloo.

Akuapem Poloo’s manager, Divine Jones disclosed that the management;team of Akuapem Poloo has not granted any permission to DKB to that effect. Therefore, he should put a stop to whatever donation plans he is currently considering.
“For me, I understand how people are sympathizing with her, how everybody is trying to cope. Some people are really coping, others are just pretending, others are just hypocrites. But my point is that, I think whatever donation that is going on is wrong.”
DKB failed to consult management before soliciting funds for Akuapem Poloo
Questioning the purpose of the donation, the disappointed manager disclosed that DKB made no effort to consult either the management or Akuapem Poloo’s legal team before putting out account details to solicit funds on behalf of their client. To him, everything about DKB’s decision is wrong.
“You should be able to consult [Akuapem] Poloo’s management or you should be able to consult [Akuapem] Poloo’s legal counsel. You can’t just go out there to start getting donations, for which purpose are you getting the donations? Is it for the child? Is it for the mother?”
It’s not fraud but it’s not right
He further iterated and explained that if DKB really wanted to show how much he cares for Akuapem Poloo then he should have first consulted with management or better still Akuapem Poloo’s legal team. He also disclosed that what made him uncomfortable is the fact that the person in charge of the donations is asking people to donate above thousand Ghana cedis.
“Excuse me with all due respect, she is loved by many people and hated by many people. If you want to do something of that sort, to try to show that you actually care, I feel at least the attention of the management team should be drawn or the legal team should be drawn. We can’t just go out there and put a certain number out that we are taking donations…What I actually saw that didn’t make me comfortable is ‘via bank account above 1000 Ghana cedis’, No, It’s wrong”
When asked if he deems that action as fraud, he answered saying “I wouldn’t say that is fraud because from my findings, DKB is the one spearheading this initiative. But I think DKB in whichever respect should take it easy with what he is doing”.
