The Member of Parliament and flagbearer candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has indicated that his government will deal with corrupt public officials.

According to Mr. Agyapong, he will allow public officials who have stolen Ghana’s money to return stolen money in six months or face the law squarely.

He likened his administration to Buhari’s.

“To be honest, my approach will be Buhari’s own. Anybody who feels that he has stolen Ghana’s money should bring it we will give you 6 months, and if we find you, you will face the law.”

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

Mr. Agyapong is well known in Ghana’s politics for his frankness and open criticism of government and corrupt personalities. He is known for criticizing his own government.

This has earned him the respect of many Ghanaians who find him as the voice of the masses.

Also, many Ghanaians believe he is a disciplined person who will not cover up corrupt government officials. It therefore came as no surprise when Mr Agyapong out-doored his theme for his NPP flagbearer campaign; Patriotism, Honesty, and Discipline.

According to the vociferous legislator, the lack of these three values is a fundamental reason for the country’s slow progress.

To instill discipline in Ghanaians, he intends to have all service personnel to serve by their mandatory service in the military for six months as part of the one-year service to the nation.

“I have noticed national service, I will put them to good use. Because of indiscipline in Ghana, every national service personnel will serve six months in the military before you come and continue the six months and finish the job. You will have the option to remain in the military after.”

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

The Assin Central Member of Parliament strongly believes that the lack of these three principles in Ghana has greatly affected its development. He argued that the lack of patriotism has led to corruption, laziness, and dishonesty among others across the country.

“I have come to realize that our challenge as Ghanaians is the lack of patriotism, honesty, and discipline. So what we need are the three pillars. I shortened it to P.H.D.; patriotism, honesty, and discipline.

“When you are patriotic you love your country. You will not steal, you will not be corrupt, you will not be lazy, and you will not be dishonest to your country. Patriotism is key if we want to develop Ghana.”

Kennedy Apologizes To Mahama

In an exemplary show of honesty and discipline, Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has apologized to the former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, for being too harsh to him.

The Assin Central lawmaker eulogized Mr. Mahama as a wonderful gentleman. He further stated that he had not been fair to him due to the way he had spoken to him.

According to Mr. Agyapong, he and the former President used to have a good relationship. He noted that, despite his harsh conduct towards, Mr. Mahama, Mr Mahama has remained nice to him.

Thus upon sober reflection, he apologized to him admitting how fallible he (Kennedy) was as a human being.

“Mahama is a wonderful man. I have been unfair to him. The way he has handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think I have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man.

“I apologize, I am a human being. I think I recount my relationship with him and all that I want to say is I am sorry.”

However, this apology has received a quick response from Afia Schwarzenegger who questioned Mr. Agyapong’s sincerity.

According to her, the gesture is a clear case of the legislator’s usual unwarranted attacks on people.

“You claim we are friends, the question is did you apologize to women for the words that came out of your mouth? Have you apologized to the clergy? The farmers you called fools?

“Have you apologized to the judges you disrespected? Have you apologized to Charlotte Osei? Have you apologized to me? “

Afia Schwarzenegger

She added that Mr. Agyapong’s ambition to become president will be haunted by no one but his past conduct towards the people he attacked.
