The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, is set to meet with the National Executive Committee to formally submit his nominations for the position of Running Mate.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama in a statement issued on Thursday, March 7, 2024, stated that the move is a crucial step in accordance with the NDC Constitution, emphasizing the party’s commitment to a democratic and consultative approach in shaping its leadership.
“The National Democratic Congress Constitution requires the party’s presidential candidate to nominate a running mate in consultation with the National Executive Committee and the National Council of Elders”.

Lawyer Joyce Bawah Mogtari further revealed that the National Democratic Congress flagbearer former President John Dramani Mahama would commence the process by presenting his nominee to the esteemed Council of Elders of the party.
She emphasized that the move underscores the significance of the Council of Elders of the party’s wisdom and experience in guiding the party’s decision-making, and further stated that the meticulous approach would also ensure that the chosen candidate aligns with the party’s values, and vision, and resonates with the interests of the Ghanaian people.
