The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress has indicated that the party is determined to win the Sunyani West Parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 General Elections.

He made the statement during the unveiling of its parliamentary candidate for the Sunyani West Constituency, Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections.

The declaration of Millicent Amankwaa as the parliamentary candidate for the Constituency comes after several months of internal litigations among interested candidates in the Sunyani West Constituency.

According to Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party followed due processes in declaring Millicent Yeboah Amankwaa as the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress in the Sunyani West Constituency and therefore called on all party faithful’s to embrace the decision of the party.

The National Chairman for the opposition party in his address also charged party faithful’s in the Sunyani West Constituency to work assiduously to reclaim the seat from the NPP in the 2024 General Elections

Millicent Amankwaa, who was declared as the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress in the Sunyani West Constituency expressed her commitment to work hard to win the Sunyani West Parliamentary seat for the National Democratic Congress.

She therefore called on all party executives and supporters in the Sunyani West Constituency to rally fully behind her as she strives to unseat the New Patriotic Party’s Ignatius Baffour Awuah in the 2024 General Parliamentary Elections.

“I am very optimistic of the victory come election 2024 and I will rely on the people of Sunyani West once again that together with unity among the party we are going to take this battle upon ourselves. I know it is not going to be easy because everyone who goes to war aims at winning and so if the person loses he/she will have challenges, but the almighty God would touch even the hardened heart to ensure this battle works out”

However, the Bono Regional Communication Officer of the party, Charles Akowuah cautioned supporters of the various parties that were involved in the selection processes to eschew divisive comments to build a united front for victory in the 2024 elections.

Asiedu Nketia Urges NDC Supporters to Resist NPP’s Inducement.

The National Chairman, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia also cautioned executives and supporters of the party in the Sunyani West Constituency to avoid being induced by the ruling New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 General Elections.

Mr Asiedu Nketiah indicated that the last time the National Democratic Congress won the Sunyani West parliamentary seat was in 1996 and believes 2024 is the right time to reclaim the seat.

“Whatever happens in the 2024 elections, the NDC shall prevail; wherever any challenges emanated from in the last elections that allowed the NPP to manipulate the result to their favour, it won’t happen again. We must all eschew any habit of divisiveness; the NPP have gathered enough money to buy you to vote for them again to continue their misrule and corrupt practices”

Johson Asiedu Nketiah

He therefore pleaded on the party supporters in the Sunyani Constituency to resist any temptation to be compromised by the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 General Elections.
