However, the party granted a 50% waiver of the filing fees charges to women, youth and persons with disabilities who would be contesting for the party’s parliamentary primaries on January 27 2024.

The statement further indicated that if under any circumstance an aspirant within a particular constituency is denied access to a nomination form, such aspirant could purchase the nomination form at the party’s regional secretariat or download it from the party’s website.

Again, the statement issued by the party’s General Secretary noted that detailed rules and regulations governing the party’s January 27 2024 Parliamentary Primaries in constituencies where the party has incumbent Members of Parliament would accompany the Nomination Forms.

Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua further emphasized the New Patriotic Party’s commitment to free, fair, and transparent Parliamentary Primaries and assured the various aspirants and their supporters across the country to adhere to the rules of the party ahead of the parliamentary primaries.

The statement also indicated that the New Patriotic Party has earmarked January 9 2024 as the final day for the submission of appeals concerning the party’s parliamentary primaries.

While the Extraordinary Constituency Delegates’ Conference of the New Patriotic Party is scheduled for January 27, 2024, an Appeals Committee will address appeals from disqualified aspirants from January 10 to January 12, 2024.

NPP Former Sege Parliamentary Aspirant To Contest As Independent

Meanwhile, the former parliamentary candidate for the Sege Constituency for the New Patriotic Party Eunice Lasi has officially announced her intention to run as an independent parliamentary candidate in the 2024 elections, having quit the party.

At a press conference held today at her Sege campaign office, Madam Lasi disclosed that she has chosen to run as an independent for the 2024 elections after considering many counsels from her supporters and her wish to provide the people of Sege with excellent representation.

She thus instructed her supporters to deface all her posters that have the New Pariotic Party backgrounds and colours in the constituency.

According to the former Parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party in the Sege Constituency, she has officially written to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah, to announce her resignation from the party, citing infractions allegedly orchestrated by the Constituency executives as well as the party’s regional chairman.

On June 12, Ms Eunice Lasi was suspended by the New Patriotic Party in the Sege constituency due to her alleged misbehaviour.

According to a statement signed by Augustus A. Adjaottor, the chairman of the constituency, the decision to suspend Ms Lasi was attributed to her repeated ‘insulting outburst’ on social media, specifically shared on various WhatsApp platforms in the constituency which has resulted in ‘internal apathy’ among the party base in the constituency.

The statement further revealed that Ms Lasi willfully disregarded the chairman and secretary of the constituency’s advice to reduce her ‘disruptive conduct’.
