The Organizers of the Occupy Jubilee House Protest, Democracy Hub have stated that its scheduled protest will come off tomorrow, Thursday 21 September, 2023 despite claims by the Ghana Police Service that it has secured a court order against it.
In a statement signed by its Convenor, Oliver Barker Vormawor, the organizers of the Protest denied claims by the Ghana Police Service that it has served a court order to restrain the organizers of the Occupy Jubilee House Protest from engaging in its protest tomorrow, Thursday 21 September, 2023.
“Our attention has been drawn to a last-minute press statement released by the Ghana Police Service claiming that they have applied to prohibit the lawful exercise of our rights to demonstrate. We wish to put it on record that the Ghana Police Service has not served us with any application and we are unaware of what exactly the police application is about”.

The organizers of the #Occupy Jubilee House protest further emphasized that its protest would come off tomorrow, Thursday, 21 September 2 2023.
According to the group, the decision is in line with the legal position that has been taken by the Government of Ghana, and the Electoral Commission that the mere filing of an application does not prevent the exercise of constitutional rights.
“We invite the general public to disregard a statement which is riddled with misinformation. Our Picket will proceed as planned”.
