Former Ghana Football Association Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has disclosed that a number of Saudi Arabia clubs are in contact with Thomas Partey, with some offering a staggering $200 million contract.
Daara, who has a good relationship with the Arsenal midfielder, revealed the astonishing offer, noting that if Partey signs the two-year contract, he will earn a tax-free salary of $100 million per year.
Ibrahim Sannie Daara added that Saudi Arabian clubs such as Al Ahli, Al Nassr, and Al Khaleej are the three Saudi clubs who expressed interest in securing Partey’s services. He noted that they are willing to sign the Arsenal star, with a potential transfer fee of €40 million.
The proposed payment would be made in instalments, making it an appealing option for the North London club – Arsenal FC.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian’s departure from Arsenal is becoming more likely, however, no final decision has been made by the player regarding his future.
Not only that but also, Italian giant Juventus is also interested in Partey and could make a move for him this summer.
Despite the growing speculation, Arsenal have yet to enter into new contract talks with Partey, who is under contract until 2025.
Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid for £45 million in 2020, played a crucial role in the Gunners’ campaign last season, featuring in 33 out of 38 Premier League matches as they mounted their first Premier League title challenge in 15 years.
A Tough End to The 2022/23 Season
However, the 30-year-old endured a tough end to the 2022/23 season, with his form dramatically dropping during the final two months of the season. Eventually, he lost his place to Jorginho in Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up, fuelling talk of a potential summer exit.
It is claimed that the Gunners will have around £180million to play with in the market but additional money could be added to their budget through sales. And Partey, along with Granit Xhaka, Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding are likely to be sold as Mikel Arteta’s side look to revamp their squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign
Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli have taken a step towards completing a move for Partey after making their first ‘moves’ to sign the Gunners midfielder.
According to sources, talks are ‘very advanced’ with Partey and Arsenal over a deal. Al-Ahli are also making a move for Chelsea duo Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Saudi Arabia has emerged as an attractive destination for football stars, with the government acquiring four clubs in the country and investing heavily in securing renowned players.
