Ghana International Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Baafuor Ohene Abankwa as the new Head of Client Coverage for its Africa Business.
Mr. Abankwa will be responsible for managing the African Coverage Team and is tasked with leading the growth into new markets in East and Central Africa whilst ensuring the continuous delivery of value to the existing client portfolio in West Africa.
Before this appointment, he was the Head of Client Coverage for West Africa and drove growth in the Bank’s business in the sub-region, particularly with Financial Institutions.
He had previously worked with Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited, Ecobank Ghana Limited and The Trust Bank Limited. His banking career started with Standard Chartered Bank where he was recruited as a management trainee. He also had a stint with Ernst and Young, Ghana.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. He is an alumnus of the University of Ghana where he studied for an MBA in Finance as well as a BSc. in Biochemistry and Nutrition.
