I DON’T MIND A COLLABORATION WITH SHATTA WALE- STONEBWOY

Stonebwoy, has noted that he welcomes the idea of a collaboration with acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, since he is one of the A-list artists in Ghana he hasn't yet collaborated with.

CEO of the Burniton Music Group, Stonebwoy.

Ghanaian reggae, dancehall star, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has noted that he welcomes the idea of a collaboration with acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, since he is one of the A-list artists in Ghana he hasn’t yet collaborated with.

The BET award-winning act made this disclosure during an interview session with an Accra based radio station. He revealed that he has had quite a number of collaborations with some of Ghana’s A-list artists, and for those that he hasn’t collaborated with, Shatta Wale’s name was outstanding on that list.

“I think so far I have done quite a number of our topmost artists. It’s just a few more left but then I have done majority. You know you can’t do all but I have tried to do something. I think one that I have not done yet and put out there is Shatta Wale. I mean, I don’t mind a collaboration with him and vice versa, if he is on that vibe.”

Stonebwoy, who is currently in the Dominican Republic,  further confirmed that he was indeed collaborating with international reggae/dancehall artist, Sean Paul, for a song that is yet to come out and he also charged his fans to patiently wait for the music to drop.

“Very true I was in the studios with him [Sean Paul] at Jamaica and we recorded a single which will come out very soon. So, the song is a conscious song that advises the youth never to leave the bonds at home. It also features Jesse Raw and Sean Paul himself. Sean Paul is also going to drop his album as well you will see it soon”.

When asked how easy it has been for him to meet music greats like Buju Banton, Sean Paul, and the likes Stonebwoy said: “it hasn’t been easy at all…if you are a reggae/dancehall artist, you will know that these are legendary names you can never trash out of the scene. So, to have a young man like me, who has been inspired by these same people, and today I am working with them. It should tell you that hard work really pays. It’s not easy at all, but, I can boldly beat my chest and say they have become my big brothers now”.

Moving away from music and speaking on family issues, the dancehall act emphasized that he has to multitask since his family and music career are equally important to him, and therefore, he tries to do his best to satisfy the needs of both issues in any way possible.

“You know, it’s a combination of everything. You have to sometimes ‘kill four birds with one stone’. So, the thing is, I had to move out with her [his wife, Louisa] because it was her birthday then. Fortunately for us, she was on leave too. So, I decided to take her along, and you know I am a married man in the end. I have to double up as a father, husband, musician, and all that. So, I am trying to do the best that I can”.
