TANZANIAN MUSICIANS COME TOGETHER TO CREATE MUSIC IN HONOR OF THEIR LATE PRESIDENT

President, John Magufuli has died from heart complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam.

Some Tanzanian musicians have come together to create a piece of music in honor of their late President, John Pumbe Magufuli.

This follows Vice President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, announcing on state TV that President, John Magufuli has died from heart complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam. 

In a video making rounds on social media, sighted by The Vaultz Media (TVM), there was an ensemble of Tanzanian musicians in a studio recording a song. Most of them were in black attire signifying that they were grieving. That notwithstanding, it seems ace Tanzanian musician, Diamond Platnumz is spearheading this music project. The ensemble includes Ben Pol, Mario TZ, Joel Lwaga, and  Dulla Makibila. Also, Khadija Kopa, Christian Shusho, Gnakowarawara, Hamadi Ally Seneda amongst others.

ABOUT PRESIDENT JOHN MAGUFULI Tanzanian

The President aged 61, was the fifth President of Tanzania since its independence in 1961. He was elected president for the first time in October 2015. More so, with 58% of the vote, and succeeded Jakaya Kikwete, enjoying a high approval rating.

That notwithstanding, his resolute action in favor of housing for the poorest had already earned him the nickname of ‘Tingatinga’, the Bulldozer in Swahili. This is in reference to the construction programs he implemented.

As head of state, he promised to fight corruption, develop the country and its economy and launch major works.  As soon as he was elected, he divided his salary by four. Making him one of the lowest-paid African heads of state. Also, he cut public spending drastically, canceled independence ceremonies since its costly. Similarly, he began sweeping the streets of the capital, Dar es Salaam, himself to set an example.
