Ghanaian highlife artiste, King Promise has disclosed that he went all out in shooting the video for his latest song, ‘Slow Down’, because he is determined to realize global domination.
The artiste in an interview shared that for now, he is working with the right team and the right people to make sure his musical projects are done the “five-star way”, just to bring his dream of global domination to fruition.
“Everything for me has to be something a notch higher. It has to be the next level kind of move. I am all about global domination right now and I have to make sure my videos, music, my team, and everything I do is done the five-star way”.
Speaking about his latest song ‘Slow down’, it is worth noting that the artist booked the entire National Theatre to shoot the music video for the song. King Promise disclosed that growing up, he had witnessed events at the National Theatre, and having it all to himself for the entire day to shoot a video “was more than a dream come true”.
King Promise details deal with Sony Entertainment
The artiste who was recently signed to the 5K Records, which is a subsidiary with Sony Music Entertainment, expressed his excitement over the deal and prays many other Ghanaian artists get such huge deals too. To him, artists are unofficial ambassadors of Ghana and they wave the flag of the country wherever they go, hence signing such international record deals is of great benefit to Ghana.
“5K Records is a subsidiary of Sony Music UK, so basically, I am signed to Sony. I am actually happy about the deal and hope many Ghanaians will also follow through. Hopefully, that will open more doors for us and we will let the world know and show them we have something beautiful”.
Shedding more light on how the Sony deal happened, King Promise revealed;a couple of record labels reached out to his team but they ended up going with Sony.
“We looked at which deals made more sense, were in line with the;direction we were trying to take, believed more in the dream and finally which money made more sense; and Sony proved themselves”.
He indicated that he is still signed to his first record label, Legacy Life Entertainment, “but;we have gone into business with Sony Music via 5K records in the UK;and we are just working together with the big machine”.
King Promise has a successful music career
Speaking about how he has been successful in the music industry, the artist ;noted that he makes commercial music that cuts across all borders as well; as invests more into the promotion of his songs.
“I make sure my music cuts across. Whether you are black or white, Nigerian or Ghanaian;,,you will love my songs and after I let the music speak; for me, I go round the world to promote it”.
When asked which international artist he would like to collaborate with, he said;it will be his greatest achievement to collaborate with American singer, Drake. He revealed that Drake is one of his top three artists he looks up to;and mentioned that it will “mean the world to me” when he gets that opportunity.
