Mr Sadhwani noted that insurance penetration is still low in Ghana and hopeful that the partnership will help to increase it.

“With insurance penetration around 1% in Ghana, we believe this activity will not only increase insurance accessibility but impact the society positively by the time all is done.”

Ramesh Sadhwani

The Managing Director of Melcom Group Ghana called all customers across the country to visit any of the participating stores to learn about life and non-life insurance products including motor insurance, home appliance plan, cell phone insurance, travel insurance, life, accident and saving policies.

The participating Melcom shops are Weija, Afienya, Spintex, Tema, Opera Square, Bibiani, Santasi, Adum, East Legon, North Industry Area (LFS), Takoradi, Frafraha, Sunyani, Ashiaman, Haatso, Ahodwo, Ablekuma, Suame, and Tamale.

Daniel Boi Addo, Managing Director (MD) of Hollard Insurance, however, stressed the need for Ghanaians to be more educated about insurance companies and their policies.
