A multi-purpose mobile application App called Connect Trade Network (CTN 360), has been launched to serve as a one-stop platform for businesses and individuals to have access to products and services to grow their businesses.

The platform was launched in Accra together with the unveiling of the “learners to leaders” workshop, a project aimed at training Junior High School (JHS) students to be technology savvy and become trainers as well. By so doing, the App is expected to help reduce unemployment rate in the country.

According to the founder and the designer of the App, Mr Benedict Osei Bonsu, the CTN 360 app has a functionality that will provide career opportunities to users to help reduce the growing unemployment in the country and provide information on trade exhibitions and other events to users.

Mr Osei Bonsu stated that there will be a four months training and development section to help participants to gain skills. In the meantime, Gbawe JHS has been selected as the first beneficiary school.

“The 12 to 16 weeks skills development and knowledge acquisition will focus on less privileged schools with beneficiaries being taken through programmes: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.”

Mr Benedict Osei Bonsu explained that the App is to augment the Ghana Trade Exhibition by providing the necessary resources to businesses and individuals beyond the annual event.

“The CTN 360 app has the profile of businesses; what they do and sell, and to a business owner, that will be helpful to you because you get your business on this platform and people can reach out to you when they need your services”.

Job Vacancy Advertisement Part of of the App

The CTN 360 founder noted that the app enables users to have access to the job vacancies through a special feature on the App called ‘career path’.

“If you’re an individual, the ‘career path’ is necessary for you because that feature gives you access to current vacancies that are out there in all sectors. So, if you’re looking for jobs, you go to the career section and it tells you all the vacancies available so you can apply”.

In the intervening time, some exhibitors at the launch of the App, which coincided with a trade exhibition, averred that the trade fair provided them the opportunity to showcase their products to many people, made some sales, and connect with new and potential customers and investors.

Daniel Agyemang-Duah, Sales Manager for Blessed Child Foods, stated that his time at the exhibition has been good enough for him as a lot of customers visited her product and bought it.

“The two days here [at the trade exhibition], has been good. We’ve had many people visit our stand and because we explain to them the nutritional values of our natural products, they end up buying something before leaving.”

It is observed that many of the products on display, including seasonings, gari mix, drinks, straw hats, fans, bags and kitchen wares ( made from bamboo), were made in Ghana products.

The CTN 360 App will help the youths a lot since the world is now navigating towards the digital era.
