The Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency, Hon Habib Iddrisu has said that the call to impeach President Akuffo Addo by Mr Martin Kpebu is irresponsible.

He stated that although the country is facing challenges caused by Russia-Ukraine war, Covid and other factors, it will be out of place to call for impeachment of the President.

“It is an irresponsible comment. They should impeach the president on what grounds? Where was he when ‘dumsor’ was collapsing businesses.”

Habib Idrissu

Speaking on the ‘New day” show on Tuesday October 24, he indicated that President Akufo-Addo is the most unlucky President given the circumstance he finds himself as leader of the country.

“He is the most unlucky president because of the situation he finds himself, when we didn’t have Covid, just look at the economy.”

Habib Idrissu

This comes after Mr Kpebu, who is a private legal practioner described Akuffo Addo as super incompetent.

Mr Kpebu’s Call For Akuffo’s Impeachment

According to the legal practitioner, the President is clueless in managing the economy well.

Speaking on the Key Points on Saturday October 21, Mr Kpebu lamented the poor performance of the local currency against the Dollar.

“The president is clueless, he is super incompetent.”

Mr Kpebu

He further asked Parliament to begin a process to impeach the President following what he believes is the mismanagement of the economy.

The President, he said, should go with his Vice.

“We need a Kumepreko demonstration and then Parliament takes up from there. One third of MPs, let’s make the efforts to remove Akufo-Addo from office otherwise it will be an indictment on all of us”.

Mr Kpebu
