Singer and songwriter, MOG Music, has stated that everyone needs investment in their line of work, including armed robbers.

During an interview, the ‘Praise Medley’ hitmaker said gospel musicians need investment to do God’s work.

He told the host:

“Excuse me to say this, but I don’t mean to exaggerate; however, I want to say that even armed robbers need investment”.

MOG Music

He added:

“Yes, to be honest, they need investment to buy more guns and weapons to do more robbery to cause havoc. So how much more are we Christians and gospel musicians doing the work of God to help win more souls for Christ?”.

MOG Music

Buttressing his points further, MOG has called for more investors to invest their resources in their craft, so they will be able to sponsor their programs and so they are able to do God’s work more diligently.

He concluded:

“That’s when we will be able to get the best of producers to master our songs and the best of a videographer to be able to bring the very best of music to be a blessing to everybody”.

I don’t charge to perform at churches but I don’t do free shows

Award-winning Ghanaian Gospel musician, MOG Music, revealed how much he charges companies and corporate organizations to perform at their events.

He disclosed:

“To perform at a show, if it’s a corporate event, our bill is between Gh¢100,000, a company doing a program, and you want MOG to honor the occasion”.

MOG Music

Speaking in an interview, the singer said he however does not charge to perform at churches.

He told in a one-on-one interview:

“When let’s say the pastor invites me to perform at a church, my rule about churches is that I don’t charge to perform at churches”.

MOG Music

According to the songwriter known in real life as Nana Yaw Boakye, though he doesn’t charge churches to perform, he directs them to negotiate with his manager.

He said:

“So you talk to my manager and let my manager know how much you are willing to pay, and then we can work out something about it, then we come and minister for you”.

The gospel musician advised up-and-coming and new artists to focus on building a strong and solid brand rather than winning awards.

He explained:

“What is an up-and-coming artiste doing on an award scheme? You are an up-and-coming artiste, you have to build your brand.

“You have to build it to a relevant stage where you qualify for these schemes”.

MOG Music

He added:

“So if you are an up-and-coming artiste, your focus should be how you can work hard to have an opportunity to be on the schemes”.

MOG Music

The gospel musician made this statement at the back of the criticisms that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) neglects up-and-coming artists.

However, MOG, noted that an artiste rushing to win awards among others while their career is still in the early development stage can have a negative impact on their future.

He cautioned:

“Sometimes when you are not ready for the platform, the platform can just sink you. They shouldn’t be in a hurry to quickly jump on awards schemes. Trust me these are some of the things that kill talents real quick”.

MOG Music

He has collaborated and performed with numerous gospel musicians, including Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle, Denzel Prempeh, Jekalyn Carr, Danny Nettey, Nii Okai, and Ron Kenoly.
