Well-known Ghanaian musician and radio presenter, Abubakr Ahmed, popularly known as Blakk Rasta, has expressed shock at the hearing of Sarkodie’s response song ‘Try Me’ aired on television.

Speaking in an interview, describing it as overdone and childish, the Barack Obama hitmaker expressed concerns about the content of the song.

The comments by Blakk Rasta come on the back of the song ‘Try Me’ released by Sarkodie where the lyrics of the song turned out to be too harsh.

The song happened to be Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson after he was cited in her book titled ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’, which contained some clear-cut words.

Emphasizing the potential negative influence it may have on the younger generation, Blakk Rasta criticized Sarkodie and the song for its straightforward words and questioned the decision to air it on national television.

He said:

“I am really shocked that this song is being played on TV. Vulgarity, immaturity, childishness, 3y3 ya paa to wit (it’s hurtful). Because this thing is going to come online for them to watch. You can get access to this, you can say it’s night so I will air it, but the daytime it’s vulgar”.

Blakk Rasta

During the interview and response to the hostess’ argument for airing the song on TV, Blakk Rasta said it gives it a wider reach.

He said:

“If you ask me that, you are trying to endorse the fact that you are giving it a mileage. Maybe on his platform, only people will watch but with a huge fat program like this, you’ve given it more mileage”.

During the interview, he said:

“What I see anytime I read this book is that Yvonne Nelson is a woman who is suffering from mental issues”.

Blakk Rasta indicated on the side of Sarkodie that the rapper’s response was out of place and an offense to womanhood.

He stated clearly:

“She picked on Sarkodie, and if you read the book, you’ll infer correctly that this was the very first abortion she had. When you read the book, you’ll realize that she said her mother opened her legs during her teens to check her hymen and said the next time she opens and doesn’t find the hymen, she will deal with her”.

Blakk Rasta

Blakk Rasta added:

“She said she was so naive and Sarkodie wasn’t the first person she dated but, she lost her guard with him probably because she saw a certain future in Sarkodie. You can meet a lady for the first day and she will give in to you. I won’t take them for cheap, it’s just the aura around you. Sometimes it’s what you bring to the table. But there are some men who are immature and think women are cheap”.

Blakk Rasta

Also, entertainment pundit and musician, Mr. Logic is of the view that Sarkodie’s response to Yvonne Nelson was needless.

He believes that Sarkodie should have been empathetic towards Yvonne Nelson considering her story and could have let sleeping dogs lie.
