Ghanaian music sensation Jupitar has shared how Hollywood actor, Omari Hardwick got into contact with him in an astonishing revelation that has left fans both excited and intrigued.

The reggae and dancehall artiste, known for his infectious beats and magnetic stage presence, recently embarked on an unexpected venture into the world of Hollywood, where he starred alongside the A-list actor in a gripping series.

Jupitar’s connection with Omari Hardwick and the subsequent opportunity to be part of the series marked a remarkable turning point in his career.

He recounted:

“I was just on Instagram and Omari texted me. Do you want me to show you proof?? And I was like OMG!!! He said his family likes me so much and it was just crazy.

“I was actually surprised. I thought it was a prank. We did a couple of songs when he was about to launch his EP”.

The possibility of sharing screen space with the renowned actor was undoubtedly a thrilling one for Jupitar, but what’s even more astounding is the revelation that Omari Hardwick has always been a passionate fan of his music.

Revealing his excitement, he said:

“I did a couple of tours with Rema, we toured 15 states and all of that, and I had this opportunity to link with Omari Hardwick who plays Ghost. I was in a series with them. We are also bringing up an EP. It’s coming out very soon around this December or so”.

He explained:

“The series basically is about his [Omari Hardwick] lifestyle. And his project is called ‘Fearless’. It’s about what he’s been through and all that”.

Reflecting on the experience, Jupitar emphasized the unexpected nature of his Hollywood journey.

The ‘Enemies’ singer pointed out saying:

“We talk all the time. I was actually part of it. I shot like 4 or 6 scenes. You know sports and entertainment are linked and all that so getting into the acting was easy cos I’ve been acting in my music videos”.

The Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Jupitar revealed that he got humiliated by the VGMAs in 2015 despite his chart-topping anthem “Enemies” resonating deeply with audiences.

He recalled:

“I remember my biggest song wasn’t nominated so I realized I didn’t… It was the VGMAs back then in 2015 even though I filed for all the categories. Because ‘Enemies’ was the biggest song in that era”.

According to him, this episode prompted him to reflect on the dynamics of recognition within the industry.

He revealed:

“I went to France, I’ve been doing stuff. My only problem is when I do the stuff I don’t bring it out there for people to see.

“I am not just saying that to undermine them because hopefully, we all need VGMA to survive as Ghanaian artists but somehow it felt like some of us are also Ghanaians and we equally deserve every push other artists are getting here”.

Jupitar

He further added:

“On the field of achievements, we all have similar success in terms of A-list artiste, we all have big platforms that we’ve graced and international awards like the UMA where I won over Wizkid, they were all there”.

Michael Okine, popularly known in the industry as Jupitar, is currently out with a new song, ‘Stand By’. He revealed that he occasionally refrains from extensive promotional efforts, thus pushing the brand due to perceived variations in recognition.

He has songs like ‘Enemies’, ‘Money Box’, ‘Tonight’, ‘Life Party’, and others.
